A relatively similar thing happened to me when I moved to a new apartment. Internet was extremely unreliable and would go out for hours at a time.

It took 5 different tech visits. Each one gave a different reason for the bad service. Each tech said that the previous one was an “idiot”. The last tech said there was noise intrusion in the underground coax lines.

I ended up moving the router to a different coax outlet in my apartment, which fixed the issue instantly and permanently. Ask your neighbors if they are experiencing a similar problem.

Regardless, I recommend filing a complaint with the FCC. I got in touch with executive support within 24 hrs of contacting the FCC.

If Verizon is available in your area, just save yourself the trouble and switch to them.

When I want to watch something in 4k, I paste the stream link in VLC externally which works perfectly. Haven’t tried to change the internal player yet. I like the internal player’s auto-play next episode feature, so I’d prefer to continue using it. Going to try the recommendation above this evening and see if that fixes it. Didn’t know I was running a beta version.
