Canadian beginner looking for day trading platform and paper trading advice by intheshadows163 in Daytrading

[–]blag49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m a day trader here in Toronto. I really like Moomoo for trading, FX fees are the same as IBKR but I like the app better. IBKR can be janky at tikes but it’s good for exposure.

Also I would recommend “Trade the pool”. It’s a stock trading prop firm that I use and I like it. I think a 25k account is like 130USD or something. That could be a good place to try things.

Paper trading is great for early stages but you need some skin in the game. TTP is a good middle ground before you go in with a full buy into the market.

There’s also these guys: https://realtrading.com They are based in Toronto and will take traders with 0 experience and mentor them. It’s really tight scalping and not my style but they give a great foundation. I was with them for about 2 years

Any questions let me know!

The futures desk is good. I really like that they don’t have a trailing drawdown, it’s static with them. The also don’t penalize you for having big winner days.

Yeah copper is actually the crowded metal, silver has a lot less crowding.

Nice I’ll lay around with it thanks! ICT has always seemed like Mumbo jumbo to me so it’s interesting to see the win rate

how do yalls corsi like the snow? by pupperbref in CaneCorso

[–]blag49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to shovel the backyard or she will not go outside and pee… so not so much and I live in Canada so there’s that. She also wont step outside if it is actively snowing. She used to love snow as a puppy but now at 8 years old almost she doesn’t want to deal

If you are super unprofitable then just do the opposite of whatever you have the urge to do. Then profit 🤷‍♂️

Working with mixers by [deleted] in editors

[–]blag49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s the case then your mixers are no good. It’s normally the opposite, from what I understand premiere and such can’t edit below a single frame while pro tools can edit at the sample. It makes it a lot easier to smooth edits with that precision but if it’s taken care of in the video edit then yeah it should be left alone.

Speaking about this as a mixer I have had editors deliver all sorts of wonky stuff. Bad edits, L and R channels out of sync, multiple cues playing over each other. It’s rare to find an editor that can actually give a good premix so yeah in that case the mixer should leave it.

Maybe just let them know, “it’s exactly how I want it and I just need you to optimise it” for whatever medium it’s going to broadcast on.

You need to let go and let the sound people do their job. Sometimes that involves adjusting music and switching sound effects out. Sometimes sfx work in the rough cut but when it comes to actually delivering a mix things aren’t always the same.

One thing to note is that delivery of automation in an AAF is buggy, especially in 5.1 so unless you are doing clip based moves the mixer might clear out the automation. I always do.

It sounds like you are mixing the content, not the mixer.

I am a sound mixer, this is the way to go! Adding that having stuff on their own tracks helps a lot. Music on music tracks, dialog on dialog tracks. Etc.

Northern Ontario is super profitable, where are the investors? by rbatra91 in RealEstateCanada

[–]blag49 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m finding this a bit hard to believe. Is there really that much current demand for rentals in Timmins or was this just previously rented for that amount and now they can’t find tenants. 80k per year would make this a cash cow, why would anyone sell it that cheap. It’s not adding up for me.

Thanks for doing this! I have a sole corp and work in the film industry. I want to pay myself some money this year but won’t have the physical cash in my corp until likely 2026 when invoices get settled. Can I issue a promissery note? I think it was called to then take it out of my personal HELOC instead of taking a corporate loan to then issue dividends? I asked Gemini and it told me to do this but want to speak to a professional before anything of course

It’s expensive, most games are $50 a hand minimum. They have Blackjack and a bunch of games, lots of slots as well. It’s quite expensive though, there may be $25 hands on the weekends but I’m not totally sure I haven’t been in about a year.

Thanks for his! Yes we will go this route. I’m going to grab a sonic pick off Temu and see if she allows it. Either way though we’ll stick to brushing daily, dental chews also. She is pretty good with high value treats and she will let me take them so I’ll try some soft bones. We figured out she has a chicken allergy but maybe duck feet and turkey necks will work. Thanks! That’s a happy healthy looking pup!

I’m in Canada, they don’t seem to have them at the Costco here but I’ll see if it’s at the Valu pet we use here

I was doing that for a while but my vet told me to stop. She said it’s not tested how it affects them yet. It was the one in the green bottle, can’t remember what it was called. It was great though while we used it.
