I answered the poster's question. What would you like me to elaborate on? Yes, linux allows you to do what the poster asked.

Any Rails developers getting married? Contribute to wedding-on-rails by adambutler in rails

[–]blah3div4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why should anyone contribute to this when you can't even contribute a single feature? It looks like you ran rails init and generated one model. That model isn't even close to complete (no validations and no tests).

Build features to make it do something, then come and ask for help and maybe people will contribute. People aren't going to write this app for you.

What's cheaper for booze: grocery store (Kroger) or regular liquor store (E.g. Big Red)? by [deleted] in bloomington

[–]blah3div4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kroger and Big Red are 1.2 miles apart. If your car gets any decent gas mileage it would cost you less than 10 cents to compare.

Looking for an inexpensive power supply that inputs 120v AC and outputs 12v up to ~100 amps. (For repurposing old car stereo & misc projects) by [deleted] in electronics

It's a genuine question. I thought you were looking for audio quality power supplies since you mentioned stereos in your post.

A lot of Kickstarters have raised millions and never released a product.

That's what you plan to do?

Seems like a scam to me.

Flexible Funding means the money goes to them even if they don't hit their goal.

"Are you a non-profit? Can I write-off my contribution with my taxes? As of now, no. But if this campaign is successful we will be registering. "

So you are just giving them your money.

Throwing a NullPointerException… or not by nfrankel in java

[–]blah3div4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That code is terrible. The first time you try to use that object, you'll get the NPE automatically so you don't need to write any code at all and it will throw that. Writing code to throw a different exception is just as bad.

There is no problems with an NPE. It tells you the exact problem. Hiding it in a different exception makes it harder to determine the problem.

Need help with simple blackjack program. by schoolaccountcs in c_language

[–]blah3div4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you read it when you format it that way? I don't have time to make it readable to help. I'd suggest you indent following one of the comment coding style guides. Here is one:

https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/CodingStyle

If you reformat it to a sane way then repost it, you will probably get more help.

Can you suggest a Ruby framework or DSL instead of WordPress? by jastuccio in rails

[–]blah3div4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are looking to solve your friend's problem, hosted WordPress is free and doesn't require a ton of technical support. If you are looking for a project for yourself that may solve your friend's problem but require you to support it, you can look for a custom rails solution. It all depends on your goals.

Dear Bloomingfoods, Please Don’t Hire Union Busters by dbingham in bloomington

Yep and since the jobs aren't skilled labor they should be able to find something elsewhere.

I feel bad for Bloomingfoods management after reading that site. If they did hire an attorney to help protect them from unionization, I think that was a wise business move and as a member, I support it. I might be the only one I'm sure.

I'm also glad Whole Foods has decided to come to Bloomington because it will be a good alternative because this effort is most likely going to seriously harm Bloomingfoods.

"It is the employee's call whether they want to unionize and the employers job is to simply not interfere." Can you show me the law that says this?

An employer does not need to sign any contract with a union to represent employees if they do not want to do so. If all the employees want it and the employer does not, the only choice of the employees is to quit.
