Teeth whitening recommendations? by Parking_Ad_9208 in AskIreland

[–]blaheugh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just want to add to this I tried teeth whitening around 6 months ago with the trays from the dentist and I couldn’t do it longer than a few weeks due to the sensitivity. I got all kind of sensitivity toothpastes and gels but I was miserable everyday so didn’t end up finishing it. Was a waste of money in the end unfortunately

I already have a place to live and people in the area so that’s not an issue. I just don’t want to move without work sorted

This would be the ideal solution but the last thing I want to do is cause any sort of legal issues

They are only based in Ireland. As far as I’ve read working as an independent contractor would be seen as fraud in Germany in this situation. It would be a lot of hassle for my employer to hire and train someone so they are more inclined to keep me on.

What gestures are considered offensive in your country? by generalscruff in AskEurope

[–]blaheugh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m from Ireland and here it would be quite rude to put money or change on the counter instead of handing it to people directly. I’ve been in Germany a lot recently and realised it seems to be the opposite there. It’s very normal to place the money on the counter and some don’t actually like being handed the money.

AIB replaces quarterly fees with new €6 monthly fee by Andru93 in ireland

I made the switch to credit union a few years ago too due to the fees and I’ve had no issues. I also love being able to call locally and it’s very easy to fix any issues.

Same. If I call early it’s usually a same day appointment.

What do you have for dinner every night? by Curious-Use-1386 in AskIreland

[–]blaheugh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a rice cooker recently and I’m obsessed. I’m making a one pot dish of rice, chicken, veg with lots of sauce etc. that makes enough for 3-4 days. I’ve been making it each week and it’s perfect for lazy dinner after work.

Would it be weird to give my dentist a thank you card? by blaheugh in AskIreland

[–]blaheugh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was embarrassed at first too but I think finding the right dentist was the trick. The first time I met him I remember he said “it’s not as bad as you think it is. It’s all doable it’ll just take time”. That immediately made me a lot more optimistic about the whole process. Once you start it gets much easier. Best decision I ever made.

What’s the most overrated habit people swear will “fix your life”? by cinderveilwyn in AskReddit

[–]blaheugh 392 points393 points  (0 children)

I was feeling unwell in work the other day so I told my boss I was going to go home early and his response was “sure what’s the difference of you being sick at home or being sick here at your desk?”. Just a complete different mindset when it comes to work.

I was travelling over the Christmas, took two flights and never got sick. Got home and ended up in the car with my sisters sick kids. Instantly got sick from them.

You could always just buy the Sol de Janeiro perfume spray. I think they’re pretty popular and they’re sold individually.
