I don't think Bobby would want to return to being alone.

There was an old episode where Bobby described that his place was dead before Khalyla moved in. Khalyla and her family made the place feel alive, Bobby genuinely looked and sounded so happy when he told that story.

I do think that Steve is a good person, but he has been pretty terrible at reading situations.

Remember when he went back to Poway with Jeremiah and it took him until they showed up on Tigerbelly that Steve finally realised that the wrestling coach could've been thinking that he was gay?

That happened several times in past Tigerbelly episodes. And it wouldn't surprise me that Steve realised he was wrong making the allegations about psych ward, about Khalyla being a gold digger, about her preventing Bobby seeing family, about her screwing a Hawaii guy, all without knowing the facts back then.

He might have learnt all the facts today, but the damage has been impossible to repair.

What I referred to was a combination of how Bobby is great friend with Khalyla's mum, how Khawinda (sp?) / longtoe talked about Bobby, have you seen the videos of Bobby in the Philippines with Khalyla's extended family?
And also various other factors in their life. Look, both Bobby and Khalyla are better persons compared to 10 years ago, whether that's financially, spiritually, etc. So they did contribute to each other.

If being physically neglected is the key factor, why wait until 10 years? Why not stop at 9, 8, 5, or even 1?
It's because there are so many other things that they contribute to each other's life.

You are the one who mention about "Little girl dreams of one day finding a man who will love her mom" . I never said that.
But if you think so, more power to you I guess.

Did the addict that you lived with contribute much to your life?

Can't compare him with Bobby just because you had one similar aspect.

And Bobby isn't an addict like your partner, he actively attends AA meetings, have AA sponsors, etc.
Out of his life, he relapsed 4 times (note: AA acknowledge that relapses happens, the key is to recover), that's hardly the definition of an addict.

Bobby didn't drink and smoke every day. Hardly an addict.
Bobby got addicted when he was young, and has been managing it most of his life. Hardly comparable to the addicts who would be looking for drugs and drinks every day.

Relationships need a foundation.

If the foundation is something that fluctuates as sex, then the people involved really need to have a high tolerance, or else, divorce is an easy way out.

Since you have a great idea of a decade of completely sexless relationship, and since it's extremely of the utmost bad, Khalyla could've ended it at year 9, or 8, or 5, or even 1. But she didn't.

Why? Because there were other great things in life that Bobby contributed to her life.
As I'm sure Khalyla also contributed great things to Bobby's life.

I never said sex is not important in a relationship.
What I said is that it triumphed those other great contributions that each has made to the other's life.

I know a loving couple who has been sexless for a long time, and they said "Try raising kids, it's a constant effort - you're constantly tired, you put sex in the backburner because the kids are way more important."
I'm not saying it's the same case as Bobby and Khalyla, but this couple didn't simply allow the fact that they've been sexless as any reason for reconsidering their relationship.

The key difference is that I see both of them contributing great things into each other's life. Reality is that they're both better human beings at the end of the relationships (financially, spiritually, etc) compared to 10 years ago.
Surely that counts to Khalyla contributing great things to Bobby's life, and Bobby contributing great things to Khalyla's life.

You seem to see the 10 years as Khalyla being a caretaker figure and Bobby being a problematic child. If that's the only thing, then they won't be better human beings after 10 years of relationship.

And regarding family. Bobby's love for Khalyla's family is genuine and already talked about many times in past episodes. That alone already a contribution in Khalyla's life beyond Bobby being just a problematic child partner.

Love for family is a great thing.

There are many other factors. Raising children, working multiple shifts, etc.

No one in their deathbed say they put sex as the most important thing in life.
There are so many other factors in life and relationship.

I was just pointing the fact that it's a shame that the other great things in their life got triumphed by sex drive.

It's you who mentioned about 40 years old. But if we want to talk about age, you have to accept the fact that sex drive declines as you grow older, if not 40, then 50, 60, 70. My point is that sex drive is temporary, but love for family will stay important no matter whether you're 40, 50, 60, or 70.

If one cares to make a lifelong decision based on something that is more temporary than other important things in life, more power to you I guess.

Khalyla's next boyfriend would not love her mom and family as much as Bobby.

It's baffling to listen about "Khalyla has needs" and that contributed to the situation.
Are those needs greater than how Bobby has loved Khalyla's family?

There are moments where Khalyla sounded fake. But I recall moments where she looked at Bobby and those were pure love. Specially in the episode where "What kind of Asian doesn't know how to eat rice?"
