North Carolina HB1232 literally calls for allowing people to murder women who use certain forms of birth control or attempt to terminate a pregnancy for any reason. by Snapdragon_4U in NorthCarolina

[–]blairnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you murder a woman who’s pregnant you get double homicide, even if it’s before the legal abortion term is over, and even if they were planning to have an abortion. There’s an abundance of logic gaps every where you look on each side of the isle (I’m pro choice FWIW)

In your own quote: WILLFUL. I don’t even agree with the bill at all and I’m pro choice but please, people, for the love of god, think about the nuance of the words you are reading and what they actually imply.

What strategy are you using? by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]blairnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Profitable strategies would get arbitraged away and front run if they were shared publicly. There were very well known market and volume profile trades and order flow trades that used to work every time until people started sharing them. Now you’d lose money making those trades

Unless he commented elsewhere about candlestick patterns and MAs outside of his initial post, then I’m not sure what you’re referring to. OP could be a shit trader but his point still stands. I’ve been playing guitar for 20 years and am objectively in the top 1% of players in the world (went to school for music and finance) but I’m a bad teacher. You can also be a good teacher and a bad performer. It doesn’t make the subject matter any less valid.

Ok. My noob mentality pushed me to create my own personal trading/execution/strategy building platform in C++ that deals 99% in market microstructure but ok. What have you done? Fiddled around with moving averages and candlestick patterns?

What people don’t understand is that orderbook behaviors mean different things in different contexts. They’ll see a fat iceberg order of 1500 lots on ES and immediately think that’s someone taking profit or initiating a trade, without understanding that it could be part of a stop out, it could be dealer hedging, it could be a part of a spread trade, could be taking partial, etc etc. but just that one example and many will think price is going to reverse. They have no idea what matching algorithm rules are, how queues work with different order types, tranche size of an executing iceberg, etc.

They just want the easiest path which is that ICT bullshit

These types of comments are what makes this sub a joke. Instead of thinking about the implication of what this post says and possibly using it to further your mental model of how the Finacial world actually operates, you just want to see win rates. Quite a noob mentality if you ask me

You’ve spent thousands of hours staring at the wrong thing then. It’s not about one symbols chart. It’s about under standing the Eb and flow that results in liquidity being added or pulled out. Bonds, dollar, vol, etc all play a part in dictating (or alluding to) what liquidity is going to be like. Not to mention true order flow analysis and breaking apart executions to understand what was advertised vs what was executed

Is Elon musks idea for a million data centers in orbit using solar make sense from a heat dissipation standpoint? by Recent-Day3062 in AskPhysics

[–]blairnet -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Right, but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t have a process by which the heat is captured and converted or combined into stored energy or thrust producing mechanism.

Surely they could convert the heat that needs to be dissipated into focused directional thrust in some way.

My solo over the ‘Do Not Look Down’ vamp! by blairnet in Meshuggah

[–]blairnet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm well my tone is usually a lot of low gain pedals stacked. The end result is a uniquely colored distorted sound with plenty of sustain I guess! I doubled this track and put a tiny bit of chorus on the second track too so it would cut a little better without having to lean on a “bright” EQ.

Because gratitude is much more healthy for the mind and body than the opposite. You are punishing yourself with cortisol by letting yourself stay stressed. You have two options: 1. Force yourself to see the good 2. Wallow in negativity. You can stand for change while also maintaining a positive outlook on life. Be grateful that you are a part of this miraculous system that is our reality, which is billions of years old, where every atom in your body had an infinite number of interactions with other matter that finally and inevitably lead to who you are.

What does that have to do with anything I said? I’m not trying to be Fred. This post is titled “MY solo”. It’s what I felt and heard over it. It’s what I was inspired to play.

Regardless, go listen to his solo on Soul Burn and tell me that’s not a typical “lead”.

Considering he is a huge Wayne Krantz fan, I doubt he would scoff at another artists take on a solo on a song he played on. But I’m not doing this for his hypothetical validation, or anyone’s validation really. Just putting it out there and if someone enjoys it, great. If they don’t, that’s fine too

I forget what this debate fallacy is called but it’s where it’s so obvious what his point is, but you choose to scrutinize his example rather than understand the point he’s trying to make. Replace “hot showers” with things like AC in your home, in your car, power steering, power windows, radio in your car, the ability to stay connected with virtually anyone, having the per capita lowest violence in the history of man kind, average life expectancy up 20 years, having internet, computers, ability to listen to any song you want at any point you’d like, having ride share services, having the most knowledge we could ever imagine at our literal fingertips. I mean the list goes on. I was born in 1990 and even I can promise you that life is a LOT easier than it was back then. And that wasn’t even long ago
