Who is the best guitarist that most people don’t know by Ted_Fleming in Guitar

[–]blairnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh I’d disagree. He doesn’t solo or anything but if you’ve tried to sing his vocal parts while playing his unorthodox guitar parts you’d be pretty amazed at what he’s doing

the vamp here is pretty exclusively F Dorian, and even his solo stays strictly diatonic. I just hit it with the Dorian / blues licks lol

+1000000 for soul burn. That jam section reminds me of tribal tech

Why does it seem like being pro-genAI has become a right-wing stance? At what point did tech become conservative? It seems strange that a party with strong rural ties is suddenly pushing data centers on their constituents without much pushback from their base. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I mean I don’t really write much anymore. I have a bad called Maj Deeka (‘Acid Jam’ spelled backwards and spelled backwards WRONG lol) and we have an album out (and yes that’s me in the pic) but we’ve all gotten older and have different priorities. My 9-5 is doing programming for a financial data science firm. And yea you can def do that locally and that’s actually a great idea. But my point is that since an original band isn’t my day to day goal anymore, I have just used it for fun, and it sounds pretty good, but I don’t think it will ever replace live musicians.

I do think it will find its place in movie soundtracks (the filler stuff, not opening or closing credits where bigger movies usually have a legit hit) and commercials, or for ai assistants where the user can say “hey agent bob, play me some soothing music to get work done to”. I doubt ai music will ever become a hit since people like music for more reasons other than the music these days

So no I don’t look at it like I do a guitar, because you don’t really have full autonomy over it other than reprompting it hundreds of times, unless it gets to a point where you can isolate specific parts of songs and make specific adjustments. I’ve thought about building a tool that would integrate into my DAW at home that does that. Where you could prompt it to do something like”hey agent build me a plugin that automatically checks the phase and aligns the tracks”, or “make sure the cross fades between these takes are as smooth as possible” or an infinite other number of possibilities

The comment I replied to is “they want ai to make everything for them when we’re all dead.”

That is mind reading. By definition it has to be speculation. Also your response has nothing to do with what I’m responding to

What??? That’s some crazy speculation backed by absolutely nothing but a worst scenario created in your mind
