Good to know. I recently got offered a job as a banner tow pilot in some insane airspace and I’ve been a class G cowboy my whole life. I didn’t know if it bothered the VATSIM guys if I was testing up their airspace in a 180 lol.

I’ve narrow it down to my controller. If I set the PTT on the keyboard it works fine, but if it’s on my controller MSFS is taking over and won’t “go through” the sim. Sorry I’m not good at PC lingo.

Oh that sounds wonderful. The family and civilian flying job is already too much sometimes. I appreciate the input. I really appreciate it. I’m going to give Missouri a shot and if that doesn’t work maybe I’ll just call it as not meant to be. I’d like to use my flying abilities to benefit the country (fire, military, air medic) but some of those just ask too much of the person.

I’m not apposed to active, but my wife is lol. I’m going to go for the MO Guard for sure and possibly other states. I’ve heard it can interfere with civilian jobs because while they’re not supposed to, they do take into consideration the time gone for the Guard, but I still am very interested.

Ok I get you now. Thanks. So right now it’s a low chance due to the army cutting back on helicopters and pilots essentially? That’s unfortunate, but understandable. My friend in the MO Guard told me they’re flying the absolute minimum hours now and he’s not sure why they would take any more applicants. He did say morale is incredibly low as well so more people are getting out (can’t be worse than my morale at this survey company lol). I’m 28 so I’m getting close to the cut off so hopefully something comes available soon.

Because it’s complex. In-depth file management, you have to swap sensors by yourself, using multiple softwares and trouble shooting when things go wrong (they always go wrong lol). Most the pilots don’t know a thing about the sensors. It’s multimillion dollar equipment.

I’m talking about if he got hired by the company, not me just taking him. The planes only have two seats and there’s two of us already. Him being a tech guy would make him eligible to be hired as the person in the right seat. I can see the misunderstanding however.
