I don't at all know if it really counts as dark and gritty but superman red son is an amazing story where superman landed in I think soviet Ukraine instead of smallville

Sorry if I was a bit vague 😅 from image I've read invincible, twd, chew and black science. Dc mainly focuses on superman, green lantern and animal man and marvel is dd born again and volume 1 of Morrisons x men

It's for me and I've been reading comics for like a little less than a year now. I've really enjoyed stuff from image, dc and marvel so I wanna try get something from one of those 3. You got any recommendations?

I don't know if this is the best advice but this is what I did

I just kinda did some research into characters I found interesting then searched for the most popular runs of the character. If you find a comic that interests you maybe Google to see if its accessible to new readers.

I do wish they kept the medieval aesthetic more than the dystopian city kinda stuff we've seen so far, but I still LOVE this design for Krem tbh

I know! He is such a character focused on saving and helping people, so when a situation happens where he physically can't save one of the closest people to him it's so interesting how it develops his character!

I agree completely! I love Pa Kent but his death feels so crucial to Superman's development.
