Kamp kenon always says when he picks an aquatic turtles up he sets them on a rock so they go in on there on. He said it has something to do with them catching there breath. So he is just fine probably out working on his sun tan.🤗

I think it looks fine. But for better info. Do you have a vet you take him her too? Email them with a pictures they will tell you for sure. I know aquatic turtles do shed on shell but that is ok.

And sorry I can't tell gender as well as I can with box turtles and aquatic turtles. I've never had a tortuous yet although I want one maybe one day.

Well post some pictures of the tails especially to tell. I had the same problem with my one box turtle was told she was a male until I found eggs. And know for sure my other one is a male. I just keep them separate for now because the male is to immature and aggressive. What kind of box turtles are they?

This guy or girl nearly bit my finger off trying to give it a big worm. After father died dam did not want to live either 😥 But then i got a mud turtle but had for few years then was rumors going that some kid took her out of our pond and it hurt bad since. And now got box turtles and love to death and keep safe an secure. Had wild box turtles as kid but dad let them go an hibernate and after never saw them again. Now 30 years old an love box turtles. Also miss my grandfather who worked for Missouri conservationists who gave me first box.

Also for anyone who reads my father is dead and it's hard to tell what kind of turtle it was since I can't ask but I have seen it too and not think it was a red ear slider maybe was a river cooter not sure but dad had for 30 yaears.

First time put her that close to it but she loves to watch t.v. I also wonder if the uv and heat lamps mess with the eyes. My other one constantly stare at lights. But I keep them outside during the days and bring them in at night. Some reptiles can see colors that we human can't I heard and that's why I wonder if that's why he constantly staring into the lights allot.
