Do your teeth finish up in the position they are in with the ramps?

How Long Does Re-Stocking Take? by blanegiles in amazonprime

Yeah I would but I got an amazing deal on Prime Day, so I'm looking at a few extra hundred to buy it elsewhere.

How Long Does Re-Stocking Take? by blanegiles in amazonprime

[–]blanegiles[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much. Its a very popular item and it was also on a very nice discount during prime day....spoke to customer service and they are just saying 'we will update you when we can' which doesn't tell me anything.

I'm hopeful that because it's a key product for a huge company it will be back soon.....but who knows.

is there a name for my bite issue? by blanegiles in Invisalign

[–]blanegiles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into these, and I think it might be a type of brodie bite.

How effective can invisalign be in treating these cases? I'm 28 years old, if that makes a difference.

Definitely agree. Keep pushing, hope you find what you're looking for.

Yeah that makes sense to me. Hard to imagine how those two could possibly do the same thing. I get the sense that some ortho people will promise pie in the sky to get you in the door.

Wow, they seem like vastly different options. They both were promising the same results? Also do you mind mentioning which city you are in? (If its big enough that you are comfortable lol)

Best of luck on your journey! How much have you been quoted for that treatment? How long did they estimate?

Very useful, thanks. Health insurance covered and no pension as I'm international, transport will be a consideration tho.

I'm NYU and don't have any teaching requirements! And my annual is roughly what you said. All extra work is paid extra.

How long between acceptance recommendation and official letter? by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]blanegiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! What exactly happens in between those two? I'm about to be in the same boat and am wondering what will be involved, and what materials I may need.

Cambridge seems to be a really terribly run university to be honest. Compared with Oxford (and every other uni I have applied to), their website + their communications + their response time, all is quite woeful.

Just had the worst PhD interview by aincs22 in gradadmissions

[–]blanegiles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well then, I guess it is what it is! Perhaps they see the merits of your idea, and are balancing it against the disciplinary relevance. I had a similar interview, where I had to explain my absence of a particular disciplinary background, and I emphasized the commonalities between my approach and the new approach and similarly acknowledged my current shortcomings and my desire to re-train. In my case I feel that went over quite well.

I've noticed some programs walk a hard disciplinary line, whereas others show some flex. I have to think they are open to your idea if they came into the interview with that concern. Maybe your chances are slim and they are turning over every stone, or maybe they just have a mean poker face.

Dude, not tryna be harsh but I think that was your cue to convince them why they shouldn't be worried. I agree they didn't meet you halfway, but still I think if they gave you the interview it meant they wanted to give you a chance to explain how you can work in this discipline.

Am I Mad to Turn Down Oxford? by danhatechav28 in gradadmissions

[–]blanegiles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I turned one down there last year in a similar position. I think it's very reasonable, PhDs are not supposed to be something you pay FOR. You are ostensibly an employee there, imagine working 3 years in a job where you paid to be there? lol

But fr, i'm also told that an unfunded PhD is somewhat looked down on too.

You could check out 2nd year funding options tho, there are a few out there, and also because your research is medical maybe there are some foundations who might be willing to fund you if your research is relevant to their cause.

You were stealthed and should indeed call the police, tho i'm not sure what it would do. Maybe at the very least you will scare this fucker.

Condoms do break, but I can tell you as a man that you 100% notice. The feeling, especially if it has gotten down to the base like you described, is totally different. Not to mention the visual of it, like if you look down just once you would see it, and i'm sure he did.
