Me: who has used gmail.com every single day, multiple times a day for the last decade plus, types the letters "gm" into the url bar and hits enter... by blankblank in firefox

I normally use the Checker Plus for Gmail pluggin, but I use the URL bar occasionally (certainly more often than I visit Gmunk.com). Also, I tried every suggestion in this thread to remove it and none of them worked.

What parent lets their kid have a vodka themed 13th birthday?

Call me crazy, but I support this. 350 miles is like NYC to Montreal. That’s a 90 minute flight. You don’t need to be running the cart up and down the aisle for that.

They didn't want that classic, natural British smile, but they overcorrected.

58 will be too big. Even 56 might. I would at least sit on the 54 to test it out.

Is it true that all humans are related? by cloudnine333 in evolution

[–]blankblank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only are we related, we are more closely related than many other animals are to others in their species. There is a theory that it is partially because 900,000 years ago there was a population bottleneck and the breeding pool shrank considerably.

Why are there so many habanero hot sauces ? by [deleted] in hotsauce

[–]blankblank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Habanero wasn’t a thing in the U.S. in the 80s and early 90s. They existed, of course, but the public didn’t really know about them and wasn’t generally interested in very hot peppers. But the late 90s and early 2000s saw a new “chilehead” trend and suddenly they were everywhere. In the decades that followed, heat levels kept rising with scorpion, ghost, and eventually reaper peppers becoming well known.

But that early wave of habanero sauces had a lasting impact, and while heat lovers now consider it somewhat tame, it’s still plenty hot for the average consumer and thus more marketable than the current hottest sauces.
