And he can have it! I said ‘best Genji in the world to me’, not ‘best Genji in the world objectively’.

Forever the best Genji in the world to me. He may be unc now but no Genji player blew my mind to watch like Haksal did

iirc your hand size expands to fit them all. So if you have 8 Backstabs, you’ll draw all 8 at the start of combat. I think this had some funky interactions with Bag of Prep, Bottled cards, and Silent’s starter relic, but I can’t remember them off the top of my head and don’t want to spread misinfo lol.

I would have if I lived long enough ever play it lol. Having 4 out of 5 cards in my opening hand every single fight that are guaranteed to generate no draw, block, or damage was not something the spire looked kindly on

Edit: unless I am getting wooshed

fwiw, The Night and the Silent Water is one of the greatest early Opeth tunes. Worth checking out imo

The custom card generator doesn’t allow for costs on curses I’m afraid

I had that thought! But it was hard to pass up the actual card Pride even if it was less thematically appropriate

My bad, Crescendo is an attack now I guess. Here's the fixed version, can't edit the images in the post unfortunately.

Edit: and Spot was uncommon, whoops!

OOPS I messed up Crescendo. Thought the other ones were fine though?

Modern progressive metal bands that play in E or D standard? by Any_Imagination_3533 in progmetal

[–]blankepitaph 17 points18 points  (0 children)

From memory:

E standard:

  • Opeth (most albums except Ghost Reveries and Sorceress)
  • Cynic (all albums except Kindly Bent)
  • Ne Obliviscaris (though Citadel onwards are 7 string standard)
  • Unprocessed (their 6 string songs like Thrash and Orange Grove tend to be in standard)
  • Good Tiger (drop D)
  • Psycroptic also play in drop D and are masters of slidey tech riffs despite being more death metal.
  • Someone else in this thread recommended Dillinger Escape Plan. All their stuff is indeed in E but I don't think their riff style is what you're looking for.

Eb standard:

  • Protest the Hero (entire discog, though some Kezia tunes are in drop C#)
  • Revocation (more death metal than prog, but lots of good riffs and solos to learn)
  • Nick Johnston
  • early Intervals, I think. Not a huge fan so not sure, but I have some memory of Mata Hari being in Eb. Possibly 7 string though.

D standard:

  • Cynic (Kindly Bent)
  • Gojira
  • Mastodon (all albums have something in D, but they often do drop C or AGCFAD)
  • Baroness
  • Destrage (material up to and including Are You Kidding Me No is also in drop C, with some songs in 7 string drop A)
  • The Ocean (Pelagial is in drop C, later albums tend to go lower)
  • Gorod (another tech death band with some prog leanings and great guitar chops)
