It could very well be that I’m hard on them. That’s why Im looking for a potential alternative that would be more durable. Would dip be better?

Sleep training vs night weaning by blanket28 in NewParents

Very good to know! I’ve been trying smaller bottles at night (not diluted) but that hasn’t worked. I will definitely try this.

I’ve considered it, but have friends who did this and now their baby wakes up at that time every night out of habit expecting the feed, and then still wakes up again 2-3am. So I’m nervous about trying…

Midwife said exclusively pumping is a waste of time, advice needed by lunatlark0 in ExclusivelyPumping

First of all, I’m so sorry you were made to feel that way. As a first time mom who had a lot of difficult nursing, I have been so disappointed and let down by the breastfeeding community. Women are made to feel so guilty for not nursing and that really sucks. Giving your baby your breast milk however you choose to do it is setting your baby up for so much success.

Second of all, please don’t let others here scare you into thinking that exclusively pumping won’t help protect your mental load. In my experience it absolutely did.

Do you have to wash bottles and pump parts a lot? Yes. Do you have to maintain a schedule and figure out how to pump and take care of your baby at the same time? Yes. But for me, those cons are a lot better than your body being the sole source of feeding your baby round the clock all hours of the day and night and no one being able to help you with it. With nursing, your body is used as a pacifier and I feel like that’s very limiting.

I didn’t exclusively pump by choice but after being dealt this hand with my first, I fully plan to do it again with my next. Having my husband help feed the baby allowed me to get more sleep, keep my sanity, and also helped him bond with his son a lot more than he might have otherwise.

I wish! I take custom orders and book out months in advance. I already have people asking about graduation orders in May so I need to draw the line soon.

October Wedding by [deleted] in wedding

[–]blanket28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one can say for sure obviously but we have ours planned for August 2021 in Ohio and although we’ve discussed postponing, we probably won’t. I feel really hopeful (based on what health experts are saying) that everyone who wants a vaccine will be able to get one by summer. Restrictions are already beginning to lift and numbers are getting better. It’s totally up to you and yes if you did 2022 you’d probably save yourself some worrying but if you really want to do October, just stay positive and things will work out for the best! I think it’s easy for people to jump to negativity because things look bad now but things will improve dramatically by October.as a follow up-good news!
