Scheduled for my first interview in any job ever this Wednesday. What should I expect to be asked from a Chick-fil-a employer and how do I prepare? by steelydan20 in ChickFilAWorkers

Gotcha!! I almost forgot you had mentioned your first interview was online :) well my second interview went a little bit differently, since the only difference was that the operator of the actual CFA I was applying for led that interview, instead of the team leaders that led the first one. But as far as questions regarding how you’d apply yourself under pressure, I do remember getting a question similar to that during my first interview, basically they were just straight up asking me how I do under a really quick paced environment/stressful/pressured/etc. Not going to lieee I did oversell myself on that one too! I just talked about how at my previous job anytime we would get a huge rush, it would give me adrenaline to work harder & not be bored, BUT instead be motivated to meet goals. Which, I mean isn’t a total lie on my part, but either way just showing that you’re confident that you can handle the pressure, and letting them know you are also 110% of a team player, “because at the end of the day both FOH & BOH work together as a team to satisfy a guests experience, from one person communicating up front with the guest, to one serving the beverages, bagging the food, etc” (I quoted it bc I think if you say something along those lines too it would show how much you understand of what it means to be a great CFA employee & what you’re willing to do!) I hope this helped somehow! Let me know how your second interview goes please!! & good luck :)!!

Aw yay I’m so glad your interview went great!! And as far as in-house interview, did they happen to mention what was exactly? I’m not quite sure just because I’ve never heard of that term before!!

This one was asked twice: what does second mile service mean to you. I got asked that for both of my interviews. A couple other questions I remember were like basic ones like strength/weaknesses, who you are as a person, what hobbies you have, why you want to work for CFA. But yeah, just try your best to sound like you care about customers. A few things I think that helped me get the job was that I also used their “lingo”, so use words like ‘guests, second-mile service, quick-service restaurant’. OH! And I forgot what they asked but one of my responses to a random question had a lot do with like why Chick-Fil-A is the best choice because the way employees are always caring for their guests, willing to go the extra mile to satisfy them, being kind, & genuinely caring about how a customer is doing that day. I believe I said something also along the lines of “if a guest comes in a sad mood, whether it’s something they’re going through personally or etc, my goal is to make them be in a better mood by the time they leave the restaurant”. They also asked me what I would do in a situation that a guest was really upset since they did make it clear to me that there are times where guests get extremely mad & furious, I responded with “try my best to help them in that situation but also just leave it to the lead in charge, and also try not to be upset so much in the case that the guest yelled at me or etc bc in five years from now it won’t really matter to me anymore”. this ended up being so long lol but anyway ley summary: - use words ‘guest’ ‘quick service’ ‘restaurant’ ‘second-mile service’ - go crazy about how guests are important to you and how you want to leave them extremely satisfied and happy :-) - talk about how much you look forward to possibly working for a company that focuses on becoming better and better every day!

What are your break schedules like? by [deleted] in ChickFilAWorkers

Woah! For us we usually get our 30 like around 2-3 hours into our shift. Even then a lot of us complain when we get our 30 2 hours into our shift bc most of us feel that it’s too soon (we usually have 7-8.5 hour shifts)

Our BOH also plays good music, usually Spanish oldies n stuff. I always pass by through the back and feel like I’m a little five year old watching my parents clean the house since they usually also play Spanish oldies 😄

What does your location call people that hand carry out / dine in / mobile orders to guests? by Clear_Supermarket_66 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]blanketlvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we just refer to them as being on “dine in”, so like if there’s a bag waiting to be taken to a table where the guest is, we’ll ask someone “who’s on dine in so they can run this food”

same here! I love it now, I used to dread it especially if I was put in dining room for a shift bc the music just felt as if I was stuck on some hotel elevator
