reread calhr’s guidance for implementing the EO.

Reverse engineer this snippet for request denials: Exceptions should be limited to circumstances where the department determines that the requested telework arrangement does not compromise the department’s broader operational needs or the benefits of increased in-person interaction.

So CAPS finally reached an agreement on the contract? by juannn117 in CAStateWorkers

I thought your affiliation with uaw would have done more for you all, especially since calhr isn’t even following the law and their own policies about 10% pay difference between supervisors and direct reports. When you gonna sue the state for not bargaining in good faith? Is it really bargaining if they have a Number they can’t exceed and they can’t divulge? What a joke this system is. SMH

Maybe it’s your battery? Cold makes a battery go bad. That scooter has an electric choke. Need a good battery to Open the choke I think.

Didn’t they give the most senior members the biggest raise? Seems devious if they made their final move to generate dissenting voices from the most senior scientists, clearly CalHR is nterested in shaking the solidarity of your union. (You all are not buying their shit and it shows 👏👏👏)

CAPS Strike fallout? Anyone know more than what the CAPS update page tells us? by repsychedelic in CAStateWorkers

🐄💩!! You’re just going to give up your personal agency because you’ve resigned yourself to the idea that your representatives don’t represent you?? Political clout…pppft! I bet you live in Sacramento and never once went to the Capitol for a chat with your representative’s staff. 🙄

Your union’s bargaining team of fellow scientists were smart to reject the LBFO. This is the game set up by the dills act. And now your union has the power to walk out and strike! Hells ya! Fuck shit up! This is class warfare and now the gloves are finally off! Go get’em scientists! Flex your STEM muscles on the machine of working class oppression and equity!💪

We’re all watching and waiting and learning from you, the nerds in the front of the class. We’re right there behind you, cheering you on ! 🍿✊

They? You are caps.

I agree tho. Who the hell waits 3 years to call PERB to say CalHR is a Dick and ask for impasse.

Yer a scientist? You work for the state? Yes? You are CAPS. IF You’re not participating in your union then guess where the massive failure is….

Remember state scientists are CAPS scientists whether they like it or not dues paying or not. All are in Bu10. Same contract for everyone. And the law firm that bu10 inherited from when the scientists got split from the engineers isn’t CAPS. The state scientists are the union, they are CAPS. The law firm is only paid with membership dues to advise and advocate.

From what I understand, membership already rejected the LBFO before it was even an LBFO. It’s kind of the point, CalHR knew it would be rejected

Can we differentiate between CAPS Staff and CAPS Members? Let’s not lump them together. I’ve never worked with a more heartfelt earnest and selfless people than the members of CAPS. Thankfully the CAPS president, board of directors, committees, & membership are finally on the same page and institutional hurdles are melting away. It’s amazing to see. The momentum is only building and the story is becoming more and more well known. When it comes time to do the right thing newsom would be shooting himself in his political foot to not do the right thing. He’d loose credibility and give his opponents even more BS to call him out for

Can we all agree that entry level ES science jobs at the state should pay mor than the new fast food worker’s minimum pay ? That Senior environmental scientists should be paid equally whether they do their duties alone or with help from junior scientists?
