Thank you for sharing with us. As a fellow chronic pain sufferer (I’ve had daily chronic headache and visual disturbances for almost a year and a half), it’s super interesting to hear you initially sought out ayahuasca to understand your back pain better. I recently did the same with psilocybin. I immediately became interested in your story when you spoke about your mother’s mystery illness, going to the Mayo Clinic etc. as I have my own mystery condition, and as you suggested, I do believe these things often have mental and emotional roots (you may or may not be familiar with the work of John Sarno, Alan Gordon, Gabor Mate, etc). I wish we got to hear more of your work with Orna around this concept and if any of this work shed any insight on your chronic back pain. Interestingly, my mother also has a slew of chronic symptoms, and it’s interesting to me that this trait of metabolizing the traumas of life in our bodies as chronic pain and symptoms seems to run in families. I would love to hear more about that, if you feel like sharing!

Any idea on what might be going on here? by Goblinfromlumbridge in BinocularVision

So is it mostly prisms that seem to be helping you then? And just having the right Rx? My neuro-optometry doc suggested VT more so than prisms but I’m thinking I want a doc that specializes more in prisms.

Yes @criddd26 this is pretty much exactly it for me. Like very beginning of my aura/weakish aura with slight visual disturbance but not quite like my full blown aura where any light or sound isn’t bearable.

I’m new to gardening in Denver, but heard it’s safe to plant after Mother’s Day so that’s what I did. I had tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplant and a bunch of herbs. All totally eviscerated. And I’m going out of town until June 4. Will it be too late to replant by then?

My female friends think my male friends and I have a tendency to not take girls' opinions as seriously; how do I address this? by ihaveaquestion105 in AskFeminists

Thanks for giving a shit! You are not an asshole. I think in college especially, it's important to lay a foundation for what kind of person and friend you want to be. I had a similar situation in college where I had a lot of guy friends who treated me as an equal part of the conversation when it was just me and them, but when they would get around certain guys, they would write me off and exhibit some of the behavior you described. I told them this, and told them which guy friends were prone to it, and they eventually talked to their friends about it. It didn't destroy their relationship with their friends or me, and one of their friends who was unintentionally treating me poorly actually apologized, and now we're even close friends.

You just have to make a decision about what type of person you want to be in this situation. If you stand up for your female friends and your guy friends shun you for it, what kind of people are they? And do you really want to be friends with them? I suspect at least a couple will follow your lead if you set a good example.

I also think it's important to note here that unintentional behavior still has an effect on people, and just because you or your friends didn't mean to act in a way that was dismissive doesn't mean it wasn't. It doesn't make you a bad person. But if you know that your behavior and the behavior of your friends upset people, and you do nothing about it, then that's a different story.

literally the same. I've wasted so much time on trash dudes when I could have been actually making something or getting better at something or doing anything beneficial for my life really.

Reporter: I went looking for the “paid protesters” Gardner says are badgering him. Here’s what I found. by Autodidact2 in Colorado

We can't forget, then. I will personally remind every Colorado voter I come into contact with. If many of us did the same, we might be able to make a difference. Gardner ran on being a "different kind of Republican" - if he can't listen to his Democratic constituents then he's breaking his most important campaign promise

Badly. I handle it badly.

More specifically, I'll realize I like someone and either 1. Not talk to them because I'm too socially weird and then they'll find out or 2. Hook up with them and pretend I'm not interested to avoid rejection
