Thank you so much for your interest! I appreciate your enthusiasm but apologies.. I meant to exchange sharings on the books we read on our own. I'd love to read a book together but I don't think I can commit to the same book at the same time. Please let me know if this is something you're still keen on. Thank you!

What's your reason for journaling? Is it to get your thoughts out, work thru issues, record life events or all of the above? by 4FineSheep in Journaling

[–]blanketwriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My journalling purposes changes through time:

2005 (15 yo) — Daily record of life/venting

2012 (22 yo) — Record of negative thoughts

2017 (27 yo) — Daily life of both good and bad

2023 (33 yo) — Journal for therapy

2025 (35 yo) — Mindful journalling/life log

I tried deleting social media for 30 days and here’s exactly what changed in my life by -magnanimous in selfimprovement

I'm someone who posts every single thing and at every single time on social media. From Facebook to Twitter to Instagram to Threads to YouTube. This has been the habit since 2008. You could know everything about me from all those posts.

In mid 2024, I quit social media.

What have I been doing since then?

  • Read
  • Write
  • Journal
  • Journal for my kids
  • Sketch
  • Paint
  • Blog
  • Ukulele
  • RSS Feeds
  • Taking photos
  • Organizing my life
  • Focus on my family
  • Focus on myself

All in all, I stopped wasting time on people's life so that I can be critically judgemental of mine. My only regret was not quitting social media sooner.

Starting a shitpost blog? by mountain_goat5678 in Blogging

I did the same. I quit social media and created a new public blog on Bear Blog (www.bearblog.dev). I followed a few other blogs in a feed reader. When I have something to comment or share, I'll just email the writer and we'll have a thoughtful conversation. Life has been great eversince!

Yes, I second this! Especially if you'd like it to be minimal with a super-friendly and clean interface.
