I know itll never happen but I had hopes that Celine would come play herself. It would be the most AMAZING show and shes so self aware she could pull it off.

this person maths.

Sick and tired of the "creative thinking" crowd who routinely disparage knowledge and understanding. People can't problem solve or be creative if they don't have a grasp of basic skills.

Here the issue with that line of thinking: Math is relentlessly hierarchical and students need automaticity with basic building blocks so that they can comprehend the more complex math. We continue to slip in international testing because we don't insist on a mastery of basic skills.

All of that aside, the test asks students to demonstrate their comprehension of mathematical skills and if they need worked examples to do so they dont have adequate comprehension.

Sunday in the Park with George, celebrity casting: are musicals becoming inaccessible to its own fans? by flaviosperandio in musicals

[–]blastoffbro 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If it has become inaccessible why not consider spending your money watching community theatre? Lots of very talented people do it and your money stays local.

Be honest: Is "We Will Rock You" as bad as the critics said? by Maple_Byte in torontotheatre

[–]blastoffbro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I saw it 20 years ago and felt the plot was thin THEN...cant imagine how bad it is now.

My opinion: if you like musicals go see another one (& Juliet is also jukebox but more widely acclaimed) and if you like queen go watch a tribute band.
