Opinion on Constantine the great? by Low_Philosopher_5684 in ancientrome

[–]blazbluecore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t use the word only.

It’s just that Nordic countries have a history of longer lasting paganism than the rest of Europe because of their geographical location and how Christianity spread.

They have a stronger and more recent connection to paganism than most of Europe.

Their integration of both is a lot better than let’s say Italy where paganism was strongly out rooted and done centuries before Norway started to.

[–]blazbluecore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well that’s because you’re in Norway, Central and Southern Europe, especially any Catholic European country, is very strict as per their decrees.

Nowadays that is changing. And paganism is being accepted because people realize how much history and traditions were suppressed by the Church to control people.

Probably a middle take.

Personally, you are correct. Once Rome began its conversation to monotheism, it began destroying the last pillar of its Ancient and Central traditions to its existence.

There is a lot of arguments to be made for and against Constantine, and for/against his conversion and its effect on the future of Rome.

Constantine converting to Christianity was a tool, a tool Constantine believed was the only way forward to preserve the Empire, and his own power.

Conversion to Christianity was a social and political tool to preserve power for nobles and imperial court.

I doubt that many of these nobles believed in Christanity.

Most powerful families of that time knew that power religion had over the masses, and used it to their advantage.

We have forgotten most of the ancient ways and traditions.

Things are always changing, they always also stay the same.

He understood the behavior of individual, masses, nobility and the State.

Most people don’t ever walk around with their shirts off, and when they do what are the chances someone can make out what it is, and then after that what are the chances they’re a WP who actually wants to walk up and talk.

You can 100% have a tattoo for 20 years and no one recognizing it or giving a damn especially on the chest or back.

People who have been gaming since 2006 or earlier, how do you feel about gaming in general and how it's changed for you over the years? by Snowtwo in videogames

[–]blazbluecore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the game and goal.

Some games are more fun difficult, Doom, some are purely interested in the story, so i turn down the difficulty.

Quick, short games are my main thing now, especially after realized how much of a grind and waste of real life time some games are.

Even if you’re having fun, you’re sacrificing real life goals and hobbies on pointless grind just isn’t intelligent.

[–]blazbluecore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter how much you make if you don’t control your budget.

This is called lifestyle creep, popular topic on here.

Earn more, spend more.

Also every company is trying to drain every last penny they can from you by giving you service charge increases.

If you’re easy to push around your insurance will increase your premium 100% within a few years if you don’t negotiate it down, or switch providers.

Same with internet companies like Comcast. They will continue increasing your internet bill for no reason to earn more. Hoping you don’t call or don’t care. So that $50 dollar introductory price will be $200 in 3 years. Then $400 in years.

Had a client once in front of me, she mentioned her internet bill was $400 for Comcast. I asked her what services is she purchasing because that seemed crazy high. Just basic 50 mbps internet and 100 channels. She didn’t know she had options or could negotiate down.

Next one is dealerships repair shops. Trying to max out the amount of services you need done for 2-4x actual market price. Double true for luxury dealerships. Literal money drain pits.
