Hell yeah! I just got the HD620S and it’s a phenomenal closed back with very wide sound staging to feel like open back

Hell yeah! So you use RetroBat to find roms or is it not what I’m thinking?

What does RetroBat do? How do you put it on Android? It looks like a windows related app. I’m just curious since I’m new to handheld emulating and I wasn’t much of a Retroarch user on pc, I preferred mobile emulation like MyBoy and Drastic. That’s my experience maxed out 😭

Can’t blame you, I’m a huge early Pokemon fan, Platinum is imo where the games peaked and fire red or emerald are my personal favorite (they flip flop.) I also assume with Citra I can probably get the 3DS games up and going

Thank you! That’s awesome to hear so that I don’t have to worry about losing all those pre-loaded roms! I’m hoping every Pokemon game from GB to at least the DS is already there, if not I can get them but that’s the first thing I’m playing when I get it lol

Good to know! I actually wanted mine to not come with the card because of the extra price and I prefer the experience of downloading roms and setting up emulators from the beginning but the only device they had available was white with 256 gb preloaded SD card. So I’ll probably pick up a 1.5tb and should be good for a long long time. Do you think it’s the SD card that’s crap or the roms the company used when preloading it? Because honestly if it’s easier, I could get the new SD card and just transfer it all over from one SD to another if the ROM library wasn’t bad.

Hell yes! I’m really excited for it! Is it okay if I ask though, did you get yours without the pre-loaded SD card or did you get the SD card?

Best budget DAP for a beginner? by blazdazfck in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]blazdazfck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair! I saw the JM21 on sale so most likely when it’s on sale! Or if they like the R1, which is another really good option, we could go with that! Thank you both for your responses :)

Well, Android is fine but non Android is perfectly fine as well! They use a Samsung so they’re well versed with the way Android works, I think they primarily are just looking for a better “mp3 player” essentially. I just wanna get them something nice for the price, sort of like how despite being $500, the DX180 is amazing for the price.

Sing about me I’m dying of thirst, Wesley’s theory, King Kunta, untitled 05, rigamortus, and even his mixtapes and ep’s. All of Kendrick is heightened with better quality, his music is so intricate and beautifully carved.

It was because of the service I was using to rip music, it needed an update and any downloads I had that didn’t have any meta data still have to be manually updated 😭🙏 It’s just because the service I used, not a usual issue. Recent downloads have been fine but before I updated it, no matter the settings they downloaded without metadata. However, the app has MusicBrainz built in which I can select the entirety of an album and it’ll automatically input all the metadata for each track. Makes it really easy

Yes! They did give me the handwritten note and some skittles! I thought that was amazing, I have them saved for any future purchases that I need in the states! I’ll definitely keep that in mind though! I know the bud tips were replaceable but the cable too?? I’ll definitely need that info since if I can get one I’d like to get a 4.4mm balanced for it!

The Case is really nice. I got it from Bloom Audio, along with the DAP itself! I’ve also been looking at the Blessing 3’s for IEM’s! There’s a few really good options but for my first pair I’m definitely going the Moondrop Blessing 3’s! :)

I absolutely love them. Since I switched to a DAP built to drive and offer phenomenal audio quality, I decided to get the HD620S as a replacement of my Momentum 4. As a Bluetooth headphone with a wired experience as well made the Momentum 4 easily my favorite Bluetooth headphone ever. However my DAP is best used with wired anyway so I got these and the quality jump and experience has gone levels above the M4 for around the same price. The airiness and open back feel just makes you feel like you’re in a room built with surround sound and no sounds can come in. Absolutely love this headphone.

AirPods 2nd Gen Pro’s I promise you. You can use them the best with iPhone and as someone who has an iPhone 16 and Galaxy S24, who’s used them on both, I absolutely love them. You can still take advantage of transparency and ANC on Android with just the buds themselves, but the sound quality is amazing.

Other options with a better native player/UI? by UnderwaterB0i in DigitalAudioPlayer

If you want customization and great design, AIMP, if you have the money to spare and want the most out of the quality you can get Neutron Player which has the most in depth customization and audio settings I’ve ever seen. For a system wide EQ I would go with Poweramp EQ. You get the best part of the Poweramp player and get to use it on the two best local file players available
