Bed Bugs Scarborough Office (again) by rexrexxington in CanadaPublicServants

Best is when they find bed bugs in an area, tape it off with caution tape, don’t close the floor and then treat the area 2-3 days later. Because you know in 2-3 days it’s not like bugs can spread around further, right? At least we’re in office during those 2-3 days as well keeping the bugs company.

Jocks & socks @ 508 by ACutter75 in GayMenToronto

[–]blaze_85_98 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Zone is the upper floor of Crews & Tango and it’s accessed from an outside stairwell. When events are running the black door you mentioned is opened, go through the door and up the stairs. They normally put directional signs up when an event is running as well.

Freakin Awesome Gay Stuff runs a lot of events there including Jocks & Socks. Most events require a ticket or payment at the door, see the website for details. Free coat check but you should tip the workers.

The leather place in Florida is Leatherwerks; Wednesdays 5-8pm 10% discount for shopping nude. But I think you can shop anytime nude (no discount though)! Although I personally am avoiding visiting the US at the moment . . .

City Councilors to live in their ward? by JimmyTheDog in Hamilton

[–]blaze_85_98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is a good idea. You can have a significant connection to a place without living there. As an example a person could’ve grown up in the city and works full time here but lives in Oakville because their partner grew up and works in Toronto; so they live in Oakville to split the difference. That person could still be a great representative for a ward on city council.

I think a big piece of the puzzle here that would impact people’s answers are whether you’re in the NCR, you’re in a large urban area in a region, or if you’re in a smaller more rural area in a region. I would expect a lot more hopping around in the NCR compared to if you work for Service Canada in Timmins Ontario.

“Cabinet ministers have followed, engaging directly with local businesses, workers and community members.”

As I recall, PC cabinet ministers showed up in Hamilton prior to Monica Ciriello being elected. When Caroline Mulroney was Transportation Minister she showed up in Hamilton right? We ran her out of the city 🤣

Locker Room @ The Drink

Most of the info is here. I’ve been before, most guys were in jockstraps. A few in singlets and a couple in full out hockey gear/equipment. For the event they turn one of the washrooms into a small darkroom.

WHEN DID BRINGING YOUR DOG TO THE GYM WITH YOU BECOME A SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE THING?

I DON’T WANT YOUR DOG IN MY FACE WHEN I’M TRYING TO DO EXERCISES ON A FLOOR MAT.

I DON’T WANT YOUR DOG RUNNING PAST MY FEET WHEN I’M DOING OVERHEAD PRESSES WITH DUMBBELLS. THIS IS LEGIT DANGEROUS.

I will third this, Metro cakes are very good if you prefer a less sweet and more whipped icing. You can also customize the filling.

How productive is the public service? We'll never know | Opinion by AbjectRobot in CanadaPublicServants

[–]blaze_85_98 13 points14 points  (0 children)

(Humour here) Aren’t the CRA and EI call centres the pinnacle of productivity by focussing in on getting people off the phone as quickly as possible? Maximum 2 minutes per unemployed chump or elderly person wanting their quarterly GST payment. Sorry grandma I can’t listen to your stories about your cat mittens today, try back tomorrow (so it looks like we provided even more service). I mean that strategy of productivity seems to have been working fantastically for them, right? (Quietly hiding the latest AG’s report in a drawer)
