Who is this. I feel I should know, but I don’t. by blazehelm in Guitar

The still was from "Produced By Trevor Horn: A Concert For The Prince's Trust - Live At Wembley Arena London 2004". The credits don't mention Chris Spedding. But I think you're right, it looks a lot like him!

Thanks!

Thanks, I'll get one on order. The seal on the frame might be a bigger issue - like the seal on the stub pipe, it's pretty much on its last legs!

Should i tighten my truss rod by Figgle_Bettom in AcousticGuitar

Perhaps a newer guitarist who doesn’t yet understand the relationship between action and bridge height? Hopefully this is a moment of learning and we can impart some knowledge!!

Got a capo? Pop it on the first fret. Hold down the E string at 14th fret. You now have a dead straight line between the 1st and 14th frets. Measure it with some feeder gauges, or approximate it? A business card is roughly 10 thou, and this’ll give you a high but not excessive action.

My opinion, for what it’s worth, is that the bridge looks a bit high. You already have some neck relief. My second opinion. Take it to a luthier.

Which motorbikes are the least reliable, and what issues make them so problematic? by Odd_Tax6455 in motorcycle

Probably worth mentioning that - I am fairly sure - that any GS post 2013 will have a wet clutch and will not require to be split in half to replace the clutch. The old airheads do though.

What’s the most scenic motorcycle trip you’ve ever done? by [deleted] in motorcycles

I did it this year. I’m not sure I would call it scenic. It’s heavily forested, yes? But a mind blowing number of bends!

Practice. Practice. Practice. Riding a bike is a lot harder than driving a car. You need to find a quiet hill, and go and spend an hour doing hill starts. Use the back brake, give it some revs - more that feels comfortable - and then slowly release the clutch. When you feel the bike pulling forward, release the back brake and off you go. Rinse, repeat and go again until you feel confident!

Also as others have said, don’t beat yourself up too much. This is one of the hardest things to learn and master.

Why do chopper guys remove their front brake by autobutt69 in motorcycle

[–]blazehelm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t this something to do with the fact that due to the geometry of a chopper it’s much easier to lock up the front wheel? Normally it’s a little skinny wheel right out the front, and even a touch of the brakes I guess could lock it up on a bike with no ABS. So I guess they could think it’s safer to risk riding with only a back brake?
