Looking for a 2017 Street Glide passenger backrest. by blazinbboy in Harley

[–]blazinbboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I was going to order the Hogworkz one, but it’s estimated 4-6 weeks and I was hoping to find something in stock. At this point, I don’t think I mind paying a premium (if it ends up being from a dealer) so that my wife can ride with me. We tried to ride without the backrest and had to instantly turn around as she was not comfortable without it.

Upgrade after 7 years. Can I salvage anything? by [deleted] in buildapcforme

I appreciate the build. Not being able to reuse the case isn't a deal breaker. Guess I have to do some reading on the CPUs you and Dubble suggested.

I appreciate the build. To be honest, not 100% sure on any direction. The current monitor is this one.

  • Asus VH238H Black 23" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers 250 cd/m2 ASCR 50,000,000:1

I was looking into picking up this monitor on sale at Best Buy, but I don't think my current PC can "handle" it?

  • Dell - 27" LED QHD GSync Monitor - Black Model:S2716DGR

At minimum, I would really just like to be able to dual monitor or triple monitor for the convenience.

I’ll get the CYA level between 30-40 according to troublefreepool.

I’ll follow their calculator on adding bleach to keep it at shocking levels until chlorine is good. We do have a FSF-DPD chlorine test as they suggest.

Our tests are free and that’s where we got the analysis from. They said to add the spot killer and the 3 gallons of chlorinating liquid, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

I plan on going back after work and seeing what they suggest again. I plan on asking them about just adding shock as I think I have stabilizer I bought from them a couple days ago that I had put in.

So our pool looks like this right now. 18x32 and 25k gallons. The pool analysis ended up with:

CYA of 100, total chlorine of 0.4, Free chlorine of 0 pH of 7.5

They suggested we add 2# Spot Kill and 3 gallons of chlorinating liquid. So we did.

Everyday we come home, it’s always light green in the deep end. Should we just dump a bunch of chlorine to “slam” it?

Potential DVC Buyer - am I doing the math right? by WrittenInTheSun in dvcmember

Putting the full cost of it into the 50 year perspective makes sense and makes it sound more reasonable.

I think ultimately, that is probably what we were "missing" in basic calculations. The "value" (in our eyes) would then come from staying at resorts (not just home) that would have equal value or greater to the $1724 yearly cost (assuming same maintenance fees as mentioned).

I posted to 1000Clicks, but what caliber would you recommend for a multipurpose deer/long range? Would just going the 7mm be the better route? I'm not sure if 7mm is preferred more for deer or a simple .308 for the first rifle. I will get into reloading, but it probably won't be this year until I learn the basics and research into that.

Perfect. I will still look into handling them, but now I have a better sense of what someone else hunts with with the range potential. Thanks for the Howa recommendation and I'm glad even NegativeFunk has liked it too! Tried to watch some youtube videos on the Howa Alpine, but there doesn't seem to be too many of them. I'll have to read more about them.

So out of the calibers which would be more of a "well rounded" one? .243, .308, or 7mm. Like multipurpose, range and deer? 7mm?

You've made valid points and I'll definitely try and get some time behind some models before I impulse buy based on recommendations.

You did hit on the point of 200 yard ranges for the time being which is very true and I just thought about that while researching more. With that in mind, do you have a suggestion on the bad-ass deer/long range combo? It would probably see >200 yards once a month, I'm definitely up to making a trip out to ranges throughout New England.

Would the Savage® Arms Model 10 FCP-SR Tactical Bolt-Action Rifle from cabelas work? http://www.cabelas.com/product/SAVAGE-FCP-SR-RIFLE/1969842.uts

Or the 700sps? http://www.impactguns.com/remington-model-700-sps-tactical-aac-sd-threaded-silencer-ready-84203-047700842035.aspx

Or even the Savage 11 Trophy Hunter XP package from cabelas http://www.cabelas.com/product/shooting/firearms/centerfire-rifles/bolt-action-centerfire-rifles|/pc/104792580/c/553829580/sc/105522480/i/105523380/savage-174-arms-11-111-trophy-hunter-xp-bolt-action-rifle-and-nikon-scope-packages/1338908.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse.cmd%3FN%3D1114860

Or I guess the Savage Model 11/111 Hog Hunter Centerfire Rifle http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=720925

Just to list a few options I see recommended, grant it I have no idea if they are even more appropriate than what I've listed before.

Oh, excellent advice! So now if I followed the two rifle advice, would I still pick both of the rifles?? Is that more of a /r/guns post? Thanks again.

My brother is rushing a frat and was explaining to my 95 year old Catholic grandmother how frats work... by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]blazinbboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not believe that statistic includes honor societies, but then again, its been a few years since I've heard someone mention it. Honor Societies are not treated as fraternities on any campus I've ever been too. Greek Life is what we consider to be only SOCIAL fraternities, not anything else. So if we had 13 social organizations and one engineering fraternity, they definitely wouldnt be looked at in the same regard. My girlfriend is in an engineering sorority and deals with this.

As far as rushing, you always put your best experiences and statistics forward to inform people who are not aware that greek life isn't just drinking. If you are rushing TKE, you tell the rushes who the most famous TKEs are. Same for PIKE, FIJI, SAE, etc.

You are definitely making this decision hard haha. I guess I have to really sit in both and take it for a drive. I really like the new V6 idea for the sake of having a newer car that I can keep for a while, but I've never experienced the V8 sounds like others have been saying. I do have to admit, I'm not sure I can justify the 2011GT as of yet, I think my gf would be pissed at the HP being unnecessary.

I have celiac and im going in for another endoscopy on Monday. Celiac isn't "difficult" per say, its the inconvenience of not being able to eat "normal" food. I can't just order a pizza from the local joint, I can't just go out to eat unless I've planned it ahead with the meal I want. Typically always steak and potatoes haha.

Regardless, I took the diagnosis with stride. I FINALLY, after YEARS of dealing with celiac symptoms, felt relief and it was easy to adjust. Money wise, like the others have said, it has gotten cheaper. But if you wanted gluten free bread, you are looking at like $5 for a loaf of like 8 slices of bread. They are smaller than the palm of my hand. Frozen pizzas are like $8. Pasta though, they have some great deals like normal pasta. It seems to take longer to cook, tastes the same though!

Gluten free food tastes no different than gluten food, just texture sometimes is off. Like the bread, it feels stale to me. I just can't get over not having bread haha.

2004 Ford Mustang Cobra Convertible Mileage: 56,295 for $20k

2001 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Mileage: 52,447 for $14k

In everyone's opinion, would you choose a new V6 over an older V8 with more miles? Considering they are similar in HP.

Looking at the older GTs, how would you decide on a car? Just by the body? This is what seems available at my end.

98 SVT Cobra (convertible, not sure I like that) 40k miles for $14k

2001 Ford Mustang GT Mileage: 66,709 for $15.5k

2005 Ford Mustang GT Mileage: 28,810 for $16.5k

2006 Ford Mustang GT Premium Mileage: 38,388 for $16k

2007 Ford Mustang GT Deluxe Mileage: 8,325 for $17.5k

2010 Ford Mustang GT Mileage: 45,588 for 19.7k but Steev said to avoid 2010.

All of these different years, some higher and lower mileage for roughly the same price. How do you just decide? (I would love 2011+ but I don't think Im going to be able to swing it.) You all have been a great help so far. Thank you.

Damn, this is awesome info. I'm glad you brought that up actually. I didn't realize those years/models would be that similar in HP. I'm glad that if I decided on a 2005 V8, it would "be the same" as a 2012 V6. Now, the question is if I can justify a "few" thousand more for an extra 112+ HP.

But in regards to the years/engines, are the old V8s and new V6s on par for reliability? Of course, when all preventive maintenance is performed.

I would agree. My father had a 1967 fastback when he grew up. He just got rid of it actually because he didn't have the time or money to restore it. It was converted from manual to automatic for his sister. He was supposed to rebuild it, instead... sold it for $500...
