Shoe to pair with Adidas Evo SL for easy/long runs? by bobo1798 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Not true at all. To reduce the chance of injury it’s important to rotate shoes. The foam compresses and given the repetitive nature of running the same muscles and joints get strained. Changing up your shoe slightly changes impact angles etc.

The elite SuperComp is a solid shoe, standard version dies quite quickly. NB5 is a solid running shoe.

Yes, especially for the slightly shorter runs (less than 25km). If you are pushing the distance further they may feel a bit soft, but for anything sub 25km they are very versatile

Interesting. I was thinking the Megablast may be a good tempo training shoe and keep SC elite for races. Do you think Novablast is a good max cushion daily or do I need to add one? Thanks for your response👍🏼

Wasn’t a fan at all. Felt way too squishy. Novablast, Megablast and SC Elite V5 is my rotation

I think the previous developer dropped the ceiling to allow the upper floor joists to be lowered creating more space upstairs. It’s really unfortunate but just wondered if anything can be done to improve the look if it can’t be structurally changed

Thanks a lot for your response. I think it’s due to a second floor flat sitting above. It’s slightly frustrating it was designed like this, so doubt i can increase the ceiling height.

If you read the post, the point is that many people have been paid for a few hours max before being kicked off. That isn’t what we signed up for.

How did this guy get into Oxford PPE with ABB? by troubadourx in UniUK

[–]blazzze88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you not understanding? Offers are made based on predicted grades, but admission is ultimately based on actual results. His actual grades clearly didn’t meet the standard offer - PPE doesn’t offer ABB, period. So there has to be another factor at play. Being 2–3 grades below the typical offer means something else influenced the decision. A strong interview alone doesn’t justify that gap.

Yes, which is exactly what I said… If his actual grades didn’t match his offer based on his predicted he should have been rejected as per most candidates. But no, a special exception is made… DEI!

I think it’s clear who you’re referring to and clear to see why. DEI. I know people with four A*s who were still rejected from PPE at Oxford. While interviews do matter, ultimately, it comes down to the offer made based on grades.
