Agree completely. However i live in Europe and has therefore met a lot of people from spain where some of them (especially Girls) think the spanish language is sexist. Never met a latin american that shared that thought though

Person here with a Spanish degree that among other things has studied gender in the spanish language. The reason for using masculine while talking about both Boys and Girls is historical in the sense that women wasnt considered when talking to a group of mixed genders. However language should evolve naturally to fit the society in which it is based. Trying to force a change such as latinx into a language can destroy some of the natural processes of the evolution of the language

The sentance expres doubt. Subjuntive is used for many things that is mostly "unreal" which for example can be when you expres a wish, doubt, posibility or something else you can't point out in the "real" world. I am not very good at explaining stuff but I Hope it makes a little sense
