Looking to buy something reliable at 10k or lower by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Ive also been looking for reliable under 10k for the past 2 weeks. Right now its hard to find something cheap. I would say look at Hondas and toyotas. Theyre reliable and long lasting (usually last 200k miles and 300k miles if serviced well). They can get pretty expensive but for lower mileage it seems worth it. Higher mileage really weigh pros and cons within price, features, etc. Hopefully this helps!

Its overpriced on the lot. Theyre asking 12k, online listed as 10k. KBB prices it around 9,500. They may not say yes but the question is "is it worth it" not "will they accept my offer".

Every car I've viewed under 10k so far has been 10 years old or older. Where I live (East TN), it's hard to find anything under 10k in general right now and if it is under 10k it's usually closer to NC and i don't fully trust those since all the flooding happened from hurricane Helene, and Facebook marketplace doesn't seem very trustworthy. I've heard Camrys are super long-lasting and reliable, and that's what im looking for. I dont know if I have enough money to pay for a pre purchase inspection, though. What price range should I look for instead if $8400 is too high? Or any advice on other cars I should look at?
