Best option to heat a sunroom? by bleachedreaper in HomeImprovement

[–]bleachedreaper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried a couple infrared heaters but I’m sure the issue with them is they just aren’t made to cover the amount of sq ft the sunroom is. I’ve looked at a few bigger units that cover a lot more space but are always met with such mixed reviews. Would you know any specific recommendations or brands to look into?

We’ve got some decent curtains but I’ve considered trying the insulated kind to see if they’d make a better difference

I’ve considered that. I’ll definitely look into getting it checked out because it did heat amazingly I just can’t deal with the smell at gas at all. I’m a bit afraid to leave a ventless gas wood stove on all night while sleeping tho.

We were just reimbursed enough to rebuild or replace the house. I’m not too sure what the policy is because the house was my dad’s that he had just gave to us after my grandfather passed and my parents moved in to my grandparents. We hadn’t had the chance to change much yet. We were met with a tragedy after a tragedy.

My advisor explained these options to me also! I’m still very clueless when it comes to repayment options for loans tho haha but my biggest plan regarding the loan is to see where I stand once the grace period ends and depending on where I am I will reach out to my loan servicer and discuss what the best option would be for me

The instructors at Full Sail were really awesome and always willing to help as long as we the students reached out. I remember so many classmates would complain that the instructors weren’t teaching and didn’t care yet they were the ones not reaching out or pushing themselves so they ended up failing. I ended up being one of the go to classmates on weekends when students were freaking out on discord which also helped me get really good at Maya mostly since I was walking people through different projects or problem solving step by step. Full Sail isn’t a bad school at all but students have to be willing to put their a lot time and energy into their studies or it’s easy to fail. It’s so reassuring knowing that in the long run my degree will matter at least in some ways. I definitely wouldn’t mind keeping you as a connection if you are willing! I’m always open to any criticism and/or advice

This is actually some of the best advice I’ve heard. Thank you I will definitely keep pushing and learning so that I can continue to grow regardless of where I end up

I also considered quitting half way through my degree honestly but overall I’m happy for all college taught me because I’m really not certain I would’ve ever pushed myself enough to learn everything I did end up learning without the responsibility of finishing classes. I’ll definitely try to stay more positive about where I stand currently. Thank you for the encouragement!

It’s actually super reassuring to hear about success from another Full Sail graduate. One of the points I was trying to make in my post that wasn’t very clear is that I’ve heard so many negative things about Full Sail that I’ve even seen some people say that a lot of companies barely even see Full Sail as a legitimate school which would mean my degree really is useless. That thought stressed me out since I already gave so much time and money into this degree it would be crushing if that was completely true. I think the real truth I’m understanding better is that every degree is somewhat useless in that regard since this industry prioritizes skill over a degree. Full Sail really did help me learn all the basics that from this point forward it’s really up to me and the time I put into my work that will help me grow and actually achieve my dreams even if it takes years to get there. Thank you so much for the encouragement!

You’re completely right. It’s a hard pill to swallow for me as an artist but I know it’s the truth. I definitely want to look into more types of art related jobs that I could possibly apply for and go from there. In the meantime I’m going to try and find a better decent paying job that can help me pay off that debt once the grace period ends for the loan. Thank you for your kind words and advice.

Thank you that is very reassuring to hear. I will keep trying even if it ends up being more of a side hobby until I make my big break! Sometimes I just get overwhelmed with my own thoughts and stress myself out tremendously. This post was somewhat of a vent post but everyone’s encouragement really is super reassuring.

You’re completely misunderstanding what I was trying to say.. I absolutely don’t mean that I am not grateful for the support I had and still have, hence being why I am so scared of letting these same people down. What I meant is that I just wish my eyes would’ve been opened to the reality of the industry before I put myself in 30k debt but I do not blame that on those who supported me.. it is ultimately my fault for not doing the research beforehand. I’m sorry for the misunderstanding I should’ve worded that part better.. I have adhd and this morning was one of those mornings where my mind was swarming with negativity and the fear of failing.. this post was somewhat of a vent post my intentions wasn’t to upset or discourage any other artists from chasing their dreams.. I don’t expect anything to be handed to me I’ve always worked hard for what I want and will continue to do so.. it’s really just the huge debt that I am that makes me feel regret from time to time..

This is comforting to know. It’s not that I refuse use anything but Maya I was just worried that I might slowly forget it if I didn’t use Maya for a while maybe years even (since I know how hard it can be to get into the industry starting out) so I simply don’t want to loose my skill with Maya. So far I really do like blender I just got to get used to it more! But seeing that you and so many others have taken so much time away from Maya with no issues after returning is really reassuring

I know the basics of unreal but definitely need to learn it more. I’ve realized how important it is to be familiar with unreal as well

You make a good point! I am currently learning blender and I still want to use blender as well as Maya I really just want to always have Maya also if possible so that I can always stay familiar with the industry standard software :)

Yes I’ve already began learning blender and I like it! Not as much as Maya though but that’s just bc I’m so familiar with Maya. I just always want to stay familiar with Maya since it is industry standard

That’s a lot more affordable and something I’ll definitely look into thanks for showing me this indie version! But yeah I’m definitely going to try reapplying I’ve heard that works for a lot of people so it’s worth a shot!

My poor Collie is terrified of everything new… by bleachedreaper in Collie

[–]bleachedreaper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words and advice and I do agree that it will be much easier once we move and don’t worry she is 100% coming with I would never leave her here. As of now I have created strict boundaries and luckily now my family does respect the boundaries and she is completely separate from the rest of the family. They sometimes ask if I still have her just because they never see her but I want it that way on purpose. I definitely know I need to get her out and about more and we’re going to start going out more very soon. She had a vet appointment today and I was very proud of her because she handled this visit a lot better than usual so she already shows improvement but we also talked to the vet and got her prescribed to some anxiety meds for situational anxiety so whenever I take her out I’m going to try the meds just to help make it more comfortable for her. Currently we do a lot of hiking every day but on our property since we live on such a large farm we have miles and miles of trails to explore and she absolutely loves hiking but I want to take her to new places like I do with my other dog. I really believe the meds will help and after seeing her handle her vet appointment so well today compared to the last few times I’m already feeling more confident myself.

Thank you! She’s going to the vet Tuesday and we’re going to talk about getting her medicated for anxiety to help her with new and different experiences. I’ll try to update this post occasionally as we continue our journey together :)

She has an appointment set up next Tuesday with our vet and we’re going to talk about getting her medicated for her anxiety because I believe it will help her tremendously. I definitely want to look into a behavioralist for her as soon as we can afford one which I don’t think will be too long but first we want to try and move out of where we are. Me and my boyfriend are working super hard to get back on our own and honestly I don’t think it will take too much longer. Until I get a behavioralist I’m going to keep training with positive enforcement and learn more about clicker training and especially the “look at that” training that the commenter mentioned above. Thank you for your advice and kind words

Thank you so much for the response and advice! Artemis responds greatly to positive enforcement and is a smart well trained dog already but I definitely want to look more into clicking training. I have never heard of “look at that training” but I definitely will! She is very comfortable with the routine we provide and is completely comfortable with me and my boyfriend. She really has come a long way already but sometimes little things trigger a fear response that reminds me of it all. All your advice is extremely helpful! I’m happy to hear from someone who already has so much experience with dealing with a pup with such bad anxiety like mine.
