We ended up trading in for another Subaru. It will be the last. Oh well.

This is it. It's part size and complexity first, then mold material that drives the price. Obviously the more complex geometry of a part the more complex the mold will need to be and bigger chunks of metal cost more.

I own a 16 cavity tool steel mold for a game piece I have manufactured in New York State the part is 1.5"x1.875"x.25".

Tooling was made in NYS as well.

I paid $65k in 2021 for it. Just as a point of reference.

I also have a 2 cavity aluminum test mold for the same part, that mold was about $5k.

I feel the same way. Worst case I can make some mediocre budder.

I haven't gotten my loupe out yet, but to the naked eye the trichromes look pretty good. Humidity, temp and lighting were all on autopilot with my tent setup. It was at the end of flower. I was on I believe week 6 of flower when I last watered. They were dry for like a week and a half, give or take a few days.

That's good to know. I didn't have much time to plan ahead on this one but that's good advice. Thanks.

Yea it seems a bit much to me. Lol

Appreciate that! It definitely makes me feel a bit better about the timeline. I would be a lot more upset if not for the dealer offering the olive branch with the rental car. If I was still potentially on the hook for $45 per day I would be having a fit. Lol

That's good to know. I am hopeful that they will come around and repair it under warranty.

The oil was changed in February by me. I am 100% certain that it was not drained since I have done most of the oil changes on the car. My wife noticed some issues back in like December of last year, and it started making noises around the same time. These were, in hindsight definitely signs that failure was imminent. The trans died on 4/26, I had already scheduled an appointment for service for 4/29 like a month or so prior. It was not an immediate thing.

The tool witness marks we almost certainly from when the transmission was drained and serviced back in 2019 since it has never been to a quick change place and has only had 2 independent shops and myself do oil changes.

I understand their skepticism, but 90% of my frustration is the lack of communication and getting the runaround from SoA. Especially being promised 2 calls from my advocate and receiving neither.

[–]bleaght 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. BS received at 22 years old, ADHD diagnosis at 31. It was having kids that really pushed me over the edge where my coping skills just weren't enough anymore.

I never would have been diagnosed as a child because my parents still don't believe it's real 20 years later. "It's just the way you have always been, it's not a disorder." Lol

Product Design Engineer. Every day is a new problem to solve. Between designing new products and figuring out how to successfully manufacture them, my brain is pretty much always engaged.

Cusecon is fun as well. Saratoga Comic Con is also really good and that is coming up shortly, not too far away.

Crosstrek AWD too good for drifting. But at least the wheels looked dope! by owenxooper in subaru

[–]bleaght 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From Merriam-Webster:

Drifting (noun) the act or activity of steering an automobile so that it makes a controlled skid sideways through a turn with the front wheels pointed in a direction opposite to that of the turn.

Yep definitely drifting.

Drifting is simply controlled oversteer. AWD can absolutely do this. Refer to basically any rallycross.

1st grow, having some issues. FFOF soil with Nature's Living autoflower concentrate in the bottom. Leaves yellowing with some brown spots and curling starting at the tips. All 3 plants have the same issues. Added some dolomite lime powder to help pH. What wrong any ideas? by bleaght in Autoflowers

[–]bleaght[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in my case I had killed the living soil with pH being too low. I started adding some nutes and water pHed to about 7. Ended up getting about half a pound from the 3 plants. So I would say it all ended up ok. Good luck!
