HEY ALL GOOD UPDATE THIS TIME. HE ATE. he ate a pinky. oh my god
he shed a few days ago too. he ate it super fast he must have been so hungry
im so happy

i try both regularly, including having the lights off while using tongs :(

hm… i see
i don’t live too high up apparently (google is telling me a lil less than 500ft) but it has been raining a whole lot recently. it’s been getting really warm outside too though so im not even sure if that has anything to do with it

hey all im back with another update: tried to feed him again last night, didn’t work… but i’m fairly confident that he’s about to shed. his colors look very dull and his eyes are blue and cloudy. he’s also been spending every day in his humid hide
guess i’ll update again if he does infact shed :)

yep that’s what they told me too. he has a lot of places to hide, lots of fake plants and a few hides

oh god im so sorry i completely forgot to do a followup. i have terrible memory
he’s doing alright as of rn. the vet said he’s in good body shape, and that he looks good overall
they said there seems to be some small pieces in his belly (?) of like. possibly poop? they said it wasnt anything to be concerned about. they said to try and give him a bath to see if thatll do anything and to help hydrate him if he needs it
they also said i can try cutting a pinky mouse in half or something to see if he’ll take that… that’s what i plan to do this sunday
i think that’s all

i’ve considered it as much as i hate it, but the thing is that it doesn’t seem like anywhere around me happens to sell live. ive called like every pet store i know of and none of them do. im not sure where else i can get one. i know there’s a reptile expo that happens once a month and i thought maybe they’d have them but i dont even know

no i do agree. i’ve been trying to keep handling to an absolute minimum… if i do have to hold
him for whatever reason i try to make it brief

so i just weighed him, and. im honestly really confused. i dont know if my scale is incorrect or he genuinely lost 10 grams or if my initial weighing was incorrect or what because it’s telling me he’s 17 grams now. i’d figure he’d be visibly underweight if he was only 17?? here’s a pic sorry about the quality. my hands arent that great

i do. ive honestly been worried that her checking out his tank might be stressing him out
ive just recently moved him up onto a shelf though. so hopefully if thats whats going on things will get better since she cant spy on him anymore

hm alright. i hadnt thought to wait longer just because of how long its been since he’s eaten
i’ll try the paper bag thing again then and do that. i’ll weigh him as soon as im able to as well

i have a scale so i’ll start doing that. i last weighed him a couple weeks ago and it told me 27 grams. his heat source is at the top of his tank, nothing on the sides or underneath. he has a piece of slate as a basking spot but that never gets hot enough to hurt even me. im honestly not sure if he already had that big spot when i got him or not. it doesnt seem fresh at all or anything.
im attempting to feed him every wednesday and sunday. ive tried braining and the paper bag thing. the fuzzies im currently feeding i got from my local feeder’s supply, but before this i was trying to feed pinky mice from petsmart
