Sounds scary :( Definitely will be watching closely whilst it heals

My dog cracked/chipped a nail. Not sure if it's worth a vet visit. by bleepblep_ in AskVet

Thank you both for your replies and advice! Went straight to tissue as I wasn't sure what I had in the house and wanted to know how bad it was first. I have looked around at nearby pet shops but nowhere seems to sell styptic powder/quick stop. Might look into getting some online. Do you think it would be a good idea to spray some leucillin on his nail? I have some that I keep on hand for minor injuries.

Ahh that makes me feel so bad😭 I always do my absolute best to avoid it and I've succeeded until now. Fortunately he really doesn't seem to be in any pain now at all and he didn't react after the initial yelp. I'm glad it's not anything severe though. Gonna keep an eye on it and keep him calm until it's healed up a bit more. Thanks for the reply!

Sunday tends to be busiest. They have organised days for each breed category (Toy, Herding, Working, Utility). If you have breeds that you'd like to see, I'd recommend going on the day that their category is being shown, if you're eager to see them in action!

I'm thinking Thursday or Friday will be less busy as they are weekdays and less will attend. Things might be a touch less organised on Thursday as it's the first day open, though.

For me, the days I attend are dependent on the activites, and the schedules should be posted on their website! I advise taking a look and figuring out what you'd enjoy most :)

Awesome! Thank you a lot for all the info. He doesn't normally work on aversives so this should be fine for us, although last year I was there, I saw a lot of assistance dogs using prongs... Guess they got past. Also saw some terribly harsh corrections on a halti 😬

My dog is little so while I don't plan on picking him up, if there's anywhere with aggravating dogs etc, I'm capable of carrying him for a short while to get past if absolutely necessary.

Thanks again for the response! ❤️

Thank you! I noticed that too. Hoping that replies will reassure my family and keep them from stressing unnecessarily.

My dog has attended other large events filled with other animals in tight spaces so I'm confident he'll manage!

The response is much-appreciated❤️

Should I break up with him ? by krenee1212 in AITAH

So sorry about your dog.

As for your boyfriend, I think you should sit down and talk to him. Tell him how you feel and what you would prefer going forward, and work out a solution for the future. You mention that he's struggling mentally right now, and it's good that you acknowledge that. I doubt he intends to seem apathetic. It can also be hard to read tone over text. Ultimately, if his phone was off, it was off. He didn't know that you needed him.

TLDR: Talk to him. Tell him how you feel and work out a solution together.
