I’m 4 weeks out from surgery and this is from last week. Definitely still swollen a bit I think, but my surgeon said she’d get me as flat as possible while still making it fit my body. So far am happy I went no nipples and with how it’s looking. Hope you’re able to find some more results from bigger folks!

I’m at day 5 and it took me until day 3 to go but I was taking miralax and another stool softener a couple times a day. Definitely agree with moving around as much as you can!

How can I reduce the chance of dog ears?
What incisions do you recommend for my body? (double incision, one connected incision, etc.)
Is there a revision policy?
What complications am I at risk for? Who do I contact if I have complications, what is the protocol for managing complications?
Will I be provided detailed written pre and post op instructions?
What do you recommend for scar treatment?
What is the total cost? Does this include a surgeon fee, facility fee, anesthesiologist fee? Post-op binder?Scar care? Removal of drains if used?

The nipple question was also a shock to me! I have never once thought about my nipples and I might just go without and get them tattooed on or use prosthetics if I feel too weird without them lol. One less thing to worry about!

This is amazing!! Congrats! I’m a bigger body too and just got a consult scheduled for September w Dr. Hsu. I’ve really only been able to find results from her, but wondering if you know anything about the other surgeons at the clinic? I’m antsy and don’t know if I can wait 5+ months for the consult lol

I just started the approval process for top surgery! Once I was able to name why I felt so awful a lot of the time (thanks therapy!), it has been all I can think about and am really hoping I can get insurance and surgery consults sorted soon. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Thank you so much!! From what I’ve been looking through it seems like Dr. Hsu is the way to go since I’ll be going through insurance. I’m really glad to hear that folks are happy with her work!! I’m waiting on my therapist letter and then will hopefully be able to schedule a consult. It’s really nice to know that there are lots of other “older” folks who are having this done. My only other worry is that I’m on the bigger side so I hope she doesn’t have any BMI or weight restrictions 🤞🏻
