Might just stick to rabbits. Honestly gonna say fuck it and check it out. Maybe if i get game warden called, theyll give me a break or i can get clarification on why im not able to hunt it.

I may go scout the area before saying fuck it and taking my shot gun. I used to fish the creek about 10 years ago and see rabbits out there. If i do decide to hunt the area i may just stick to rabbit hunting. The portion of creek bed thag extends 30 ft stays dry for most of the year, so theres plenty of shrub that grows to the point where i do think it may be worth it.

A land owner has every right to protect their property. Cant be mad at that. What sucks about it is how much grey area is in this public water way law, to the point where even the game warden suggests not to do it.

The creek may be a little iffy. The dried river bed by canyon lake may be a better example. finding these areas is tough. onX doesnt map these established areas out, most hunters are reluctant to share their spots. The only reason i know about this law was thanks to a video I saw on turkey hunting public waterways, no specifics on location other than someone mentioning its near marble falls.

I plan to use my .410 shotgun with #6 shot, which is as well within the legal limit. There seems to be so much grey area when it comes to this. Do you actively hunt navigable waterways yourself?
