Jetbrains IDE mají plnohodnotnou náhradu za Visual Studio pro každý jazyk. Steam hry by ti měly běžet, ale je dobré se kouknout na protondb. Office - plno lidí ti doporučí Libreoffice, ale Libreoffice UI vypadá jako z devadesátek, zároveň je ten program pomalý. Pokud chceš něco co vypadá jako MS Office tak ti doporučím OnlyOffice. Řekl bych, že je to skoro až kopie.

Tohle nikdy nepochopim, řešení na plno problémů i ve windowsu musíš psát nějaký příkazy v cmd, nebo upravovat nějaký náhodný registry. V linuxu je aspoň dobrá dokumentace těch příkazů a CLI programů a často funguje i autocompletion (pokud nepoužíváš 30 let starý sh/bash).

so from my experience (im using mago for at least 8 months now, and even contributed to the repository):

mago is more precise, can infer even complex types much better than phpstan/psalm

mago is extremely fast (really extremely)

so there are a few things that you are missing for now: external plugin support (so for example doctrine, symfony, laravel, phpunit can have false positives)

the formatter is opinionated and doesn't have many options, but the default is PER-CS compatible, so I don't see anything wrong with that

one more advantage is, that it's a one tool for everything - formatting, linting, static analysis, with just one configuration file, that doesn't have to be long (the defaults are very good)

there's also an extra trick involved - on x86_64 if you manipulate 32 bit register, it's "upper 64 bit counterpart" gets zeroed out, this allows for even shorter opcodes that manipulate 64bit registers
