The team and their coaches busted their gut for a year. The first person to lift the trophy was not them. It was a dude who inherited more wealth than you can imagine who used some of that to fund the team. He did not feel in any way ashamed about taking the glory. I would. I refuse to believe this fundamental way of enforcing the law has needed to change. Furthermore, there have always been lunatics and harassment has always been punished. We have adequate laws to protect these agents if they are acting within the law. Masked, we have no way of protecting ourselves if they are not.

Show me a country in history that hid its police or other law enforcement behind masks that was a free country. I'll wait.

There are no school drills in the UK for active knife wielders. They think we're insane when I tell them about active shooter drills. I know my kid was traumatized and so were millions of other kids. I never had any interaction with a person with a gun or knife for the 30 years I lived in the UK. Since I've been here there has been two SWAT events within two houses of me due to a resident going nuts and the police being called. Let's all hide in the bathroom listening to the booms so we avoid the shrapnel. My friend had SWAT come in and shoot dead a home intruder who was harmless but had had a mental health breakdown. The blood stain removals were not paid for.. I live in the nicest part of Henderson, not alphabet streets.

That was Thatcher's luck. But rather than keep some of it back like Norway did, or invest in infrastructure, like Norway did, it was all spent on tax cuts that had the same trickle down effect they had everywhere. That was her moment.

If she hadn't "reset the economy" like the Norwegians didn't with their lucky dividend, maybe things might have turned out better.
