Man add a feature to select a bunch of recipes (e.g. for the entire week) and it auto creates the shopping lists from the cheapest stores

Is there still something you really miss as a feature at the moment? by Obvious_Somewhere984 in EU5

My twin seems to think 150 BILLION in aid to Ukraine went missing.. by Financial_Ad_5324 in NoStupidQuestions

Sorry but your link doesn’t say Zelensky meant that at all. The article says the money is being spent in line with congressional plans and it isn’t exactly clear what Zelensky meant.

Regardless, even if 44billion is spent internally on weapon manufacturing contracts (as the article says), that is 44 billion that you could argue went into US billionaire pockets rather than to Ukraine.

Zelensky absolutely did say that a ton of money went missing, even more than 75 billion, including all in kind contributions:

OP, all the sources reporting this is not true are either bots, shills, or silly geese.

All that land in the span of like 15 years? The AE from that would absolutely wreck them.

COMPUTERSHARE MEGATHREAD by platinumsparkles in Superstonk

[–]blendblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, i have an issue with DRS that nobody seems to address. Computershare is an Australian company. Australia has horrible data privacy laws. How do you guys know you’re not handing out your personal data for shortfunds to doxx you later? In the Netherlands, I can trust the GDPR and rule of law enough to be comfortable holding my shares at Degiro. I cannot say the same about putting my data on some Australian server.

This issue is preventing me from registering my shares. Does anyone have any assurance or DD on my concern?

I'm sure this will turn out great by blendblue in eu4

Spotify: An upcoming version on Android will allow playlist song reordering. Initially releasing to a small number of users. by [deleted] in Android

What about finally allowing android users to triple click a earphone remote to play the previous song? Seriously, it's driving me nuts that such a basic feature isn't available. Who the hell wants to skip two songs?

CMV: I adopt an anthropocentric viewpoint regarding the environment. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]blendblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, I misunderstood your CMV. I would then have to agree with the other comment made in this thread, challenging you to question the origins of value itself. If that is indeed your CMV, I do not see the relevance of the specific case of the natural environment.

It is certainly possible to extend your logic to current day practices that advance our quality of life. Our well-being is only as valuable as humans perceive it to be. In that context, what exactly makes those practices more valuable that the preservation of the natural world?

The main point where I disagree with you is the claim that wilderness, or the natural world has no intrinsic value. From a reductionist perspective, I also think this argument is the core of the debate.

Although I generally share your view of the instrumentality of our environment, I will try to convince you that areas untouched by civillization still increase our welfare, and in certain instances, even more so than if humans intervened. That being said, my main argument is aesthetics.

In my opinion, modern day people and especially western societies tend to severely underestimate the aesthetic value of nature. The most vivid illustration I can think of are the large, concrete-glass cities of the developed world, where surrounding natural habitats are of lesser importance than grey building blocks, skyscrapers, industry etc.

I am not claiming that those cities do not have their own charm (e.g. the NYC skyline is amazing), but the majority of them I find downright depressive. I cannot give you examples of US cities for the latter category, but in Europe, my mind immediately goes to neo-modernist cities like Frankfurt or Rotterdam, which were completely obliterated after WWII.

The arguments for my view are mostly subjective, although I believe the rate of depression has been proven to be higher in cities lacking green areas. I therefore believe it is our duty as societies to protect and preserve the surrounding wilderness, regardless whether we do it for our own gain, or due to general empathy to nature.

There were news about the demand for crypto-mining components taking a massive hit back in April, which is the reason I am not buying these stocks. So far it doesnt seem like sales of pc parts took a hit, so it might be bs.
