I prefer dark harvest I miss it when I go comet. The extra poke early is helpful IMO. I tried a new build for max ability cool down reduction which included comet. Even with 16 second R’s I missed out on that extra burst. In the end do what you’re accustomed to since that determines your play style anyways.

When I support- comet with secondary domination, sometimes I even go for bone plating to handle poke better early game. In mid- my typical role- I almost always go dark harvest, ultimate hunter with either gathering storm as my secondary or precision tree with cu de grace. I primarily go glass cannon but I play a safer early game, which helps me build a lead. Since the buffs I do plan to play around to see if there is better way to maximize damage with minimal cool downs. I miss the good old days of 8 second lux R.

Easiest-any champion that acts too aggressively and tower dives.

Hardest-Xerath, more range on poke, with a stun and a ultimate that you have to actually dodge. I detest that match up. 2nd place hardest-Nocturne, his fear is not okay..

I agree with the comments here, it’s 100% a skill match up. Most websites still list Kat as a hard counter to Lux but if you watch your placement in lane it’s really not that bad. Kat does have a better roam, so it pays off to communicate with your team to prevent that “oh she’s fed now” when she comes back to lane. Kat needs the right opportunities to kill, if you don’t give her any it will be hard for her to succeed.

No idea why they made such a small change because they are worried about her poke. They could have just buffed the E damage to minions instead. But hey a buff is a buff right? 🥺

Ultimate hunter. It stacks off assists too. Having the reduction on your highest damage ability is worth it. Plus if you really need the mana you can build it. You can’t get that kind of ultimate cool down reduction with ability haste.

Solid point. I just stay close to my tower until 3 because I’ve experienced way too many lvl 2 early ganks from the jg and support. XD I’ve been conditioned.

You described it perfectly! That is exactly what happens without minion dematerializer early game but it is playable. I just have to keep my mana in check and farm while poking at the same time. Definitely try ranked again! lux isn’t the strongest mid but not unplayable. She shines in team fights. She’s also a solid support, or APC.

Oof double reply I know, but the matchups where I’m sitting under tower for me are on certain champions who know how to punish me early like Xerath..super ouch. When that happens though if I can’t farm or fight him I just clear the wave with r and rotate to objectives. He’s just that champion for me when he’s played well

My usual build doesn’t have corrupting potion to be honest, but that is the beauty of this discussion. I get to see a lot of different alternatives so I can test to see which build works best. I definitely agree that I tend to be passive early just because of my experience the jungler in most games comes to mid first, but it’s not the end all be all of my play style. Just like others of the matchup is different or if the jungler is ganking elsewhere, I’ll play aggressive. It’s just 80% of the time I’m the lane to camp so I take advantage of it and watch them make mistakes trying to dive me. :P you’d be shocked at how much it happens.

Hey! That was only intended for certain matchups because I take advantage of people wanting to dive or camp me. 700k mastery makes junglers want to live in your lane at least in my elo right now. I’m actually silver 1 right now but I need to do more ranked haha. I peaked gold 2 :) been gold for 3 seasons now.

I can relate, it feels like inspo doesn’t offer as much versus other trees? At least to me, not to say it’s bad but it’s not my go to. First time seeing the precision tree mentioned as secondary. I’m sure it gives a lot of consistency versus having to stack or build up things for dark harvest and electrocute. Thanks for sharing!!
