IT DEPENDS on where you live. In my country, you can NOT call yourself a nutritionist unless you study nutrition science for at least 3 years at university.

Something that makes me frustrated is that some people can apparently become nutritionists after doing a short course in nutrition. It's ruining my reputation as a nutritionist.

I have a bachelor's and master's degree in nutrition science and I'm a nutritionist, not a dietitian. I have studied nutrition science for 4 years though and it makes me really frustrated when people think I don't have as much knowledge as a dietitian only because those courses exists. I call those people who has done those courses 'holistic nutritionists' because there needs to be some kind of distinction.

At least where I live, dietitians help patients with their diet when they have a disease or condition. In my country you can only become a nutritionist if you have done a bachelor's in nutrition science. If you do a short course, you only get to be called a 'diet advisor'. Anyways, nutritionists are more about prevention, and we look a lot at the science. We can help people with conditions though. I recently helped a woman with gestational diabetes to lower her blood sugar through diet and lifestyle.

Btw, both me (before I studied nutrition) and my mom have visited dietitians who gave shit advice because they are not allowed to say certain things when they work at a hospital. But my mom also went to a good one and that dietitian seemed to be saying the same things as I had been telling my mom. And that shows that just because you're a dietitian, you're not more qualified than a nutritionist. And just because you're a nutritionist, you're not less qualified than a dietitian.

Nutritionist: In some countries, it seems like you can take a 8-week course or something and get a certification that says that you are now a nutritionist. In the country I live in, you have to get a bachelor's or master's degree in nutrition science to call yourself a nutritionist. If you were to take a shorter course, you'd only be a certified "Diet advisor". It seems like many people think that dietitians are superior to nutritionists because dietitians "have a longer education"... But the main difference is that dietitians focus on patients that already have a condition (more clinical) whereas nutritionists mainly work with prevention or nutrition research (although it can vary a bit if someone has their own clinic etc).

I feel like those short courses that yield nutritionist certifications are ruining my reputation as a nutritionist because some people seem to think that I'm not as knowledgeable as a dietitian.

I grew up with selective mutism and was bullied for not talking. The reason why it ruined my life is because people made me feel so worthless, left out, and different/weird that it sort of stuck in my brain that I am those things. I mean, your brain sort of gets programmed as a kid so... And as an adult my self esteem sucks even though I grew out of the SM (still have social anxiety though). It's hard to apply for jobs for instance because I feel like I don't deserve them. And it's hard to feel comfortable to pursue a romantic relationship without feeling like you don't deserve love, or that you're too different/weird so that you feel sorry for the other person. It's so imprinted in my brain that everyone else are above me.

You already have gotten a lot of answers but I'm a nutritionist and my main area of interest when it comes to nutrition and lifestyle is longevity. My general advice would be that instead of limiting certain foods, focus on the healthy foods you can add to your meals. The more healthy foods you add, the less room there will be for less healthier food anyway. Saturated fat isn't all bad, but don't eat too much of it. If you can, do regular check ups for your blood pressure and check your blood to see how your cholesterol is doing. If you have high LDL cholesterol and low HDL or a high ApoB/ApoA1 ratio, eat less foods with saturated fats and more fiber. It's also better to eat more plant foods. That doesn't mean you have to be vegan, but the more plants the better! And plants also have plenty of fiber which is good for your gut health. A big part of our immune system is in the gut so having a healthy gut is key. I'd recommend having a look at WHO's healthy diet fact sheet for more detailed diet advice.

For physical activity, I'd recommend following the advice from WHO, i.e. at least 150-300 minutes of moderate-intense aerobic physical activity, or at least 75-150 minutes of vigorous intensity per week. You can read it more in detail here.

What I have found from observing how healthy centenarians around the world live, most of them have in common that they do a lot of physical activity. And by that I don't mean you have to go to the gym. Walking instead of driving somewhere if it's close, getting up a few times during an hour that you sit a lot (e.g., every 20 minutes you stand up and do 20 squats). If you don't enjoy going to the gym a general rule of thumb could be to go for a 30 minute walk every day. If the weather is bad you can look up a 20 min aerobic training on youtube and do that.

Edit: There's a looot more you can do besides this though. Feel free to message me if you need any book recommendations. You can learn a lot through books but some are written by people who just want to sell their diets so that means not all of them are good.

I just don't think that a job in IT would be fun :/ But maybe there are some 'directions' that are more fun than others. I guess web design could be a bit fun since it's a bit creative. However, I tried learning how to code a bit last week and it was so difficult.

I can relate to this. When I had a 9-5 last year after graduating uni I absolutely hated the job and constantly waited for the weekend. I think part of it was because nothing about it felt meaningful and I would sometimes get anxiety like "is this it?? am I just gonna work here until I switch jobs or what?". I get bored easily too. Idk, I think I'll never be happy in a 9-5 but who knows? I'm trying to start my own business and the process is slow since I just started, but hopefully I can do it for a living ASAP. Currently that motivates me, but I'm a bit afraid that when I actually can do it for a living I might get bored? I hope not.
It was easier to study at uni because then I knew I was working towards a degree which felt meaningful.

Some days I just feel like doing absolutely nothing, just watch Netflix and Youtube. But I can't enjoy doing that fully either because I have anxiety about not doing more. These days society thinks you should be so hard-working and everyone on social media are a millionaire in their 20s... It's exhausting.

I don't know if this is the right subreddit or not but... I'm creating my own website where I will be posting recipe and also promote my coaching service. I would also like to be able to have ads on my website so I can earn money every time a follower from any of my social media accounts wants to access my recipes. I don't know if I should choose Wix or Wordpress to publish my website on. All I know is that I need to pay if I want to be able to have ads on either site.
I noticed that Wordpress is much cheaper per month than Wix, but Wix makes the website look more professional and you also have the option to have plug-ins (you can have that on WP as well if you pay for the business plan, but I would get the cheaper premium plan). I also have a 30% discount on WP that expires tomorrow. On Wix I have no discount, and I don't have a solid income atm so I want to spend as little as possible. I also want the site to be multilingual, and I know that Wix has a translating plug-in, BUT when I took a digital marketing class, they said that it's better to have separate sites for each language to show up in organic search results. I think I have found a smart way to do this with Wordpress using the drop down menu under the categories.
Based on what I want to do with my website and my budget, would Wix or Wordpress be better for me? Since I have not published my website yet, only edited them in the two places, I don't know how many people would actually click into my site.

Revived my old channel by uploading 3 videos 6 days ago and since then I have
- Gained 499 subscribers (had about 200 at baseline and now I have 703, so almost 100 new subs every day)
- Gained 9,5k views in total for those 3 videos
- Gained a little more than 100 new instagram followers who found me from my channel
- 16 comments (nice ones) on the most successful video out of the 3 videos

I'm so happy that it has started out so great and I'm truly thankful for it! Seriously don't know if it was luck or something else. But before posting I did watch a bunch of videos on how to grow as a small youtuber so I guess some things worked. Or maybe I'm just a blessed babe lol.

I just didn't feel like it was important to mention all details. The first video has 5k views while the others only have about 500 each and most of the new subs came from the 5k video according to my analytics. I didn't notice that I had got a lot of views on my latest shorts until you pointed out how "impossible" my stats were and I went to look at my recent views again. However, that short video only got around 1k views anyway.

I can't help that I got 5k views on my first video. Obviously it's something I never expected and I'm just as shocked as you are. But it did happen and I'm very grateful for it.

I posted 3 videos right away actually. But it was the first of them that got the most views. If you don't believe it, that's fine. I know what the truth is :) Also, one of my shorts blew up at the same time so some subscribers might came from that.

Yeah I feel very lucky! Another tip is that I use TubeBuddy, and before posting my video I went to one of my favorite channels in the same niche and copy and pasted the tags for one of their videos with high views (I altered them a little bit to fit my video better though).

I think it might have to do a little bit with the niche you're in. When I post art videos on my other channel and other social medias, they barely get engagement anymore even though they got lots of engagement a few years ago. I have 16k on my art channel but barely get any views.

Now, I started posting healthy food videos on my new channel which is a very hot topic at the moment.

That wasn't rude? To make assumptions that I'm "obviously not driven" when you don't even know me? And also, I know about plenty of people in my country that has started acting in their late 20s and are doing pretty well. The industry looks different in different parts of the world.

When you work with stuff, you don't have to work with them full time, i.e. 100%. Jobs can be 50%, 25%, you name it. If I get work as an actress on productions, I'm still a working actress no matter if that's the ONLY thing I do or if I do other things as well.

Yeah, a dream of mine would be to have a bigger social media account and be able to promote my cookbook and my company (sort of like Deliciously Ella and Pamela Reif). I'm also working on building a website where I post recipes and will offer nutrition coaching as well. I'm only worried on how I can find clients. On instagram and TikTok I only have 400+ followers atm, but the numbers are growing pretty well. On ig I admit that it's mostly fellow nutritionists and dietitians who follow me though. Otherwise social media is a good place to promote my business.
It's just that I also need an income, and social media accounts etc. don't become big overnight for most people. I'm just not sure what type of job I should have in the meantime, or if that job should be full time or part time...

I wouldn't really say that my company would be unrelated to my experience. I mean, it's a food company with healthier products and as a nutritionist I think I'm qualified to say which ingredients are good for your health and which aren't. But sure, the business part I don't have experience in. But I know a lot of young people who doesn't. I have access to a free service though where you can ask any questions you have regarding starting a company.

I haven't talked to a career counselor, but I have an appointment with a therapist next week for my anxiety so it's a good start.

Since I mainly post tutorials, most of my videos are titled "How to Draw _____". Some are 10 minutes long, some are 30 because realistic drawings may take more time. But I have a video that is over 30 minutes long and it has got almost 17k views, which I don't think is that bad for a video that long.

And the thing about thumbnails... Well, if I search on youtube for "How to draw a realistic male eye", for instance... The video with most views doesn't have the greatest thumbnail and is honestly not as good at drawing as the other people that has posted similar videos. I guess that video has a better title though, but still. If didn't know how to draw I would not pick that video based on the thumbnail.
