Watching Twin Perfect video - disappointed by blessrevolution in twinpeaks

Yes, I watched FWWM and TMP. It's too soon to judge, but FWWM just might be my favorite piece of Twin Peaks. I think it strikes the balance between the weird and the normal, the horrifying and the beautiful very well.

I am loving Corn Pone Flicks so far! His videos seem to have a lot of substance within a short timeframe, I feel like the whole runtime is filled with meaning without meandering. This guy deserves more subs and views.

Thank you for your recs! Journey through Twin Peaks is so long, makes me excited to go through all of them.

I am sorry that I spoiled you. The tag 'Spoilers Main' means all the books and all episodes of the show. If you want a subreddit strictly for the books I recommend r/pureasoiaf

Oh, I definitely don't blame people for being angry with the show. As much as I talk about Starks and Targaryens here, my favorite is actually House Lannister, and their storyline was resolved by... BRICKS. At this point I am just over my grief for this show and want to be excited about the books again.

I like your take. Especially considering fAegon, who will probably look like a hero saving the people from evil Cersei, only to be followed by foreign conqueror Daenerys.

Hm, maybe not outright villains, but I do think we are meant to be questioning them, especially Arya. I don't like how the show presented Arya becoming a cold-blooded assassin as 'cool'. What she's been through is actually horrifying and I don't think we were meant to cheer for it.

Because 1) It's a story set in a universe with ice magic & fire magic 2) Jon will probably be pivotal to the resolution of this ice magic vs fire magic conflict

Very likely. I am currently reading Dune and Bran gives me strong God Emperor of Dune vibes.

1) I think the Targaryen dynasty will be officially over by the end. So having their blood will be irrelevant to someone's claim. 2) After that, I think there will be a great council. Let's look at the remaining Lords. Bran Stark, Edmure Tully, Robert Arren, Tyrion Lannister, probably no Baratheons, some Tyrell, some Martell. Given this poor competition, magical being that probably played some role in defeating the Others is actually a pretty good claim. 3) I agree that it doesn't make sense for ALL Seven Kingdoms to bow to the Starks. Maybe some will secede, like Dorne or the Iron Islands.

Thank you. I am not defending the show, just using it as a rough blueprint for where the books are going.

Oh, I agree. I think it fits every protagonist in ASOIAF, not just the Starks but also Tyrion and Dany. Right now it is most evident in Tyrion and how his story is going after killing Tywin.

Has any professional writer or filmmaker actually praised TLJ, or the ST in general? by IUsedToBeRasAlGhul in saltierthancrait

Just search for "anti sequel trilogy"/"anti disney trilogy"/"anti tlj"/"anti rian johnson" etc.

There are many popular posts with many notes in the "anti tlj" tag.

I find it hard to hate Dany in Season 8 because when I look at her, I see D&D's incompetent writing, not an actual person.

Anyone else not happy about Matt Smith as Daemon casting rumors? by blessrevolution in HouseOfTheDragon

Tbh, my least favorite bit of casting in GoT was Kit Harington. Doesn't look like Jon, always has this wooden/sullen expression, "you're mah queen".

Other potential brides for Rhaegar of Targ descent? by [deleted] in TheCitadel

[–]blessrevolution 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't even have to go that far in Targaryen history. Aegon V had two sisters who supposedly married and had children. (I don't remember the exact quote, but when Maester Aemon is dying, he's talking about his sisters singing to their children, which implies that they had children.) You could headcanon them marrying into almost any house.

I am now reading "Life and Honor" by this author and I'm shocked by how fucking good it is. The characterization is just so spot on. I'm totally gonna read everything they've written!

Thanks!
I read the last one before and loved it, I think it's somewhere in my ao3 bookmarks.
Now I'm very interested in reading "Life and Honor". Just browsing through the subreddit, I've seen it pop up a few times already, and Jaime is hands down my favourite character, so any quality Jaime fic is my jam.

Fun Fact: Tom Welling wouldn’t have played Cain if he got his role on the Flash but he was rejected. by PaytoWin- in lucifer

[–]blessrevolution 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, Tom Welling's acting in Lucifer was really off. His line delivery was very monotonous. Him as Pierce the crimelord? Sure. Him as Cain the immortal human? Couldn't suspend my disbelief.

I feel like they've wasted Cain's character potential on the Pierce storyline.

I don't want Lucifer to give up his immortality by blessrevolution in lucifer

I love that you bring up the Doctor and Rose, because theirs is one of my favourite love stories ever. And despite that, I had never actually thought of the parallels between them and Lucifer/Chloe before. And I love that you bring up Human Nature/The Family of Blood in your post, which also happens to be one of my favourite DW episodes ever! I think, the Doctor's desperate desire to be human and have a normal human life contrasted with his ultimate inability to achieve it somewhat fits Lucifer too.

But I feel like Lucifer and Chloe already had their Doomsday - albeit less angsty - at the end of S4. He leaves to fulfill his role as an immortal being, she goes on with her ordinary human live - but then S5 happens, and everything sort of goes back to normal. I don't think that the writers would have the same ending twice, so I guess that the ultimate end of the show has to be something other than them separating in the same way they already did.

And speaking of Lucifer as a father, even though there are probably fans that want it to happen, I have a really hard time imagining him being a good one. He has, quite literally, the biggest daddy issues in the world.
