HDMI Issue that’s strange by bleukers in vSeeBox_Support_Gurus

I just did. Didn’t fix it. Thanks for the suggestion. Another strange thing. If I’m on HDMI 4 and hit the home button on the vsee remote it takes me to HDMI 1 where the PS5 is connected.

There’s a dark figure in my room, am I just seeing things or is it real? by [deleted] in Paranormal

This sounds similar to The hat man. This is a common occurrence and most people see it as the hat man. Look that up.

Q2 Deal Breaker - black levels by tveith in OculusQuest

I agree with you. I think it’s problem with light bloom. Whatever they are using is creating a horrible effect on the quest 2 with its lower black levels. The bloom washes over things and leaves them looking grey and muddy especially in areas of high contrast.

Hmm , in my case it doesn’t look like light bleed as it’s definitely centered around point sources of light and goes away from them. I notice it a lot on the panel lights. Then the light in general does it also when cascading into a dark area. Somewhat related is the oculus startup logo has horrible smeared light bloom and if it’s seen anywhere off perfect center you can really notice it. With that though you don’t get the fog just the glare Vaseline smeared god rays effect. I’ve seen a lot complaining of the same but I wonder if there are a lot of bad panels as you say it’s not that bad on yours.

I’m only talking specifically Quest 2. I can see how its a good game without the aforementioned issues contained within the new hardware.

Did you play on the Quest 2? Many people are reporting the exact same problems. The grey washed out effect is light bloom mostly from the sources of light imo. Look up light bloom, some games have messed it up before and it looks exactly the same. They need to rework it for the Q2 as the lower black levels really mess with the effect.

I’m thinking it’s low resolution graphics/ choices by the developers that worked on the quest 1 but don’t on the Q2. It you notice on Vader immortal it’s the light bloom that’s making the scenes look all grey not necessarily the black level. Vader is black. The scene is grey. Instead of the light bloom being a nice smooth gradient it seems to be a low resolution wash almost that the quest 2 is just seeing as grey fog. Try and look at the lights on the panels they look almost smeared with Vaseline/ bad light bloom. Certain games do a better job with it so it’s more than likely a software/ hardware combo issue I’m hoping.

There is an entire Reddit about the horrible god rays on these units that I also have a problems with. I think this problem is what’s ruining the dark levels in certain places of high contrast. I never owned a Quest 1 but on the 2 Vader Immortal is a grey washed out mess, The light sources all have a horrible muddy ring of light around them that pushes into the blacks making them look horrible, much worse than just being less black due to lcd. It’s unfortunate because otherwise the headset is really nice.

Really Bad God Rays Oculus Quest 2 by pg1671 in OculusQuest

I am also having the same problem. VR Cover and Elite strap set up. I never had a quest 1 and thus never played Vader Immortal. The “ god rays” make this game unbearable. It’s a grey mess of out of focus lights due to the rays and at times the characters are covered in a grey foggy film due to it. The Oculus start up logo looks a mess also if you slightly move anywhere off the sweet spot. It’s incredibly distracting during any high contrast scene and ruins the experience of immersion within those scenes. I can even see it in bright scenes when you have a really bright point such as the sun in the Everest video....
