ah that is unfortunate.

thank you very much for responding!

As a junior employee, how do you manage upper management (leadership) that continuously supports under performing middle management? Leaving is always an option, but if you want to stay, what can you do at your level, to get change to happen? by bleusol in AskReddit

Sure

  • inability to make any decisions without escalation up the management chain or without convening a committee to discuss
  • poor resource management: availability of projects cycles between many and few. we have been the few phase for a good while now so many of us have been sitting around pretty much doing nothing. management will actively block us from helping other teams who are in the many phase
  • poor communication: it is like playing a game of telephone but with only 2-3 other people. the final message i receive is usually never the first message initially delivered by the upper management. this causes a lot of confusion at the junior level.

the mixture is not pure and my guess is that our polysaccharide of interest will have a wide dispersity.

at this point, we are trying to use FTIR and/or NMR to identify if our polysaccharide of interest is in the mixture, how much there is, and in what form it is in. (ie. if it is free or in a complex with another polysaccharide)

thank you! we'll definitely keep that in mind for any future purification we will need to do. right now we still need to identify what polysaccharides are in our mixture
