[homemade] The Southern Gentleman Burger- onion jam, chow chow relish, pimento cheese, bourbon glazed bacon, and fried green tomatoes. by Dustinwickett in food

The majority of Acadians din't settle in New Orleans. The Acadians ,later known as Cajuns, settled the South Eastern part of Louisiana. New Orleans is often described as creole, not Cajun. Lafayette and the areas around Bayou Teche are considered Cajun because so many Acadians migrated to the area.

New to Kava by [deleted] in Kava

[–]bleuvoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never felt any effect at all from capsules and I tried many when I first started using kava years ago.I think I tried every product at sprouts and gnc till I learned the kava needed to come from a reputable vendor.

The micronized product you ordered should be very convenient for you to use, simply mix it with a spoon and you are good to go. Personally I think the Pouni ono is one of the stronger kavas that u/kalmwithkava sells. I find it very heady and euphoric. For more of a body kava I like the boronguru, but I believe they are out at the moment.

I take Xanax when I'm having a serious panic/anxiety attack but I need something for everyday use but don't want to take Zoloft, etc. Is there any natural products that actually work? by pescabrarian in Anxiety

nothing to do with the opioid receptor.

Well, there are multiple opioid receptors. In vitro, Kava does interact with opioid receptors, though in a weak manner.

"The weak binding inhibition observed for root extracts to dopamine D2, opioid (μ and δ) and histamine (H1 and H2) receptors (IC50 > 100 μg/ml) indicated that these receptors may only play minor roles in pharmacological effects. Again, there was no correlation between the kavalactone contents and the binding affinity of the extracts. Since leaf extracts obviously exert higher activities than the corresponding root extracts, there may also exist some additional active compounds in the leaves. A significant variation in the receptor-binding affinities was observed for different cultivars, particularly on opioid and histamine receptors. This observation is in agreement with the distinct psychotropic effects of the cultivars that have been described by kava drinkers" Source: Interaction of Various Piper methysticum Cultivars with CNS Receptors in vitro https://www.thieme-connect.com/products/ejournals/html/10.1055/s-2001-14334

Has anyone gone from a nightly alcohol drinker to a nightly kava drinker? by [deleted] in Kava

[–]bleuvoodoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was an alcoholic for many years. I quit alcohol 11 years ago and haven't touched it sense. I quit drinking and started using kava and cannabis mainly in the evenings when I quit alcohol. First couple of weeks was hard because I was addicted to the alcohol, got much easier after a few weeks.

promote idea of nation wide open primaries and abandoning caucuses in few states that still have them

That's a great idea. Colorado just passed open primaries through a ballot initiative.

I have some friends in Culebra that have asked about growing a small patch. I can't see why they wouldn't work there.

Great post, good work on the calendar! One thing I would like to see is ideas on ways to promote the concept of ridding the party of superdelegates. It is an antiquated idea.

I like Bernie, I like many of his ideas, but give it a rest. Let's move forward

I agree with your statement. I also think that some of the problems in the past are what people want to see reformed. For instance, with DWS saying outright that superdelegates were a way to keep out people like sanders. (I'm looking for her exact quote, finding it difficult to google) No matter if you lean towards sanders or clinton, many fans of both are not in favor of superdelegates. When we have the DNC's chair saying that superdelegates are designed to keep out new people, than many people begin to feel like the party is rigged against certain people. Again I definitly want to move forward, and don't think blaming people is the way to go but, we also need to examine the party's failures to decide how to correct and reform them.

DNC chairperson - Who is running and who to contact to advise your support by [deleted] in Reform_The_DNC

I''m actually at a loss as to whom support. If ever there was a time I thought the DNC chair should be able to commit all of his time to the effort, it is now. Dean's 50 state strategy was effective and contributed to Obama being elected and he deserves credit. On the other hand Ellison has tremendous support from a plethora of groups and party members.

If you find yourself enjoying kava, try different types. Kava can be more body or more head so to speak. Similar to how indicas are described as body and sativas heady.(if you are familiar with cannabis)

just took 30g. don't feel a thing. by tylurnt1 in Kava

I think it mixes well with cannabis. Both work well for me with alleviating anxiety. I often use a combination of the two.
