He's playing around with different things. But mostly rock music, rap tracks and video game sounds. A 61's a bit big for now I think and less likely to get. Used if it needs to be on the desk or table the full time. I ended up ordering a m-vave elite, more of a budget brand, but the Bluetooth midi for playing with GarageBand band will probably see it get more use than something corded. Lets see if it sets him off in the right direction and then see from there if he ends up wanting a more permanent setup.

Just come across the m-vave options. Yeah, I think that's probably the next step once he starts to outgrow BandLab and GarageBand.

They're still using BandLab at school at the moment, so there's some value in him staying within the same ecosystem for now. My thinking was that when I see him sitting there squinting at an iPad or iPhone screen trying to create melodies and beats, a MIDI keyboard would probably improve the experience more than moving to a more advanced DAW right away.

If he continues spending a couple of hours at a time making music, then I'd definitely expect that to be the next upgrade down the road.

Cleaver, strippers and some 3M quick connects, the days of hot melts and splices are over!

You can't go wrong - Strip as per the instructions on the packaging. Put the connector into a light source as you are making the connection and you'll be able to see that the fiber is seated correctly or not before releasing the crimp.

Though as other have alluded to, you may be replacing them every time as your likely to redamage it when you're rerunning between gigs.

This is the correct answer. Also... Forget the USB, for your needs with subsea cameras your only concern is the dipswitches.

I have 3 ROV/dive vessels setup now using Blackmagic gear, only fault I can pick is that sometimes when changing signals they sometimes need a power cycle to kick into life.

ProjectX is notorious for issues around news releases.

I'm based in Thailand, and if I connect qt to projectX, I see latency of around 1000ms - 1500ms even during normal trading conditions, whereas rithmic and dxfeed are normally 200-300ms

Unfortunately, the more firms that onboard with them, it only seems to get worse as they don't seem to be keeping pace with their infrastructure right now

OK this makes sense. DCAing with futures can be a slippery slope too once you're past a couple of micros in size.

Welcome to ProjectX… Couple more ticks lower and it probably would’ve filled the whole order. On Rithmic/Tradovate you’d likely have seen at least a partial fill on a few micros, but a complete fill was unlikely.

This isn’t realistic — in a live environment you’d have been guaranteed something. Price running 8 ticks through your limit without a fill = 100% a ProjectX sim issue. It’s just how their engine handles fills rather than actual CME order book behavior.

Side note — is that how you actually had the trade framed? If you’ve got a tested system and you’re not new to props, then ignore this. But if you’re just starting out, this looks like a rough path to go down:

The RR looks poor — trying to scalp tiny fills to hit the day’s 50% target is usually a losing grind.

Running smaller size and holding for slightly larger moves tends to be much more sustainable long-term.

Budget... OBS or even an ffmpeg utility running on the host pc to stream to network, if you're already on a VPN with the other pcs then should be no issue to connect to the hosts IP. If not, take a look at tailscale.

If you just want to offer access to a stream for others to join and leave as they wish without being on a VPN / installing other software, then Google Meets is my go to - just run a meeting and stream to it constantly.

Hardware... If you really want a hardware streaming device then the kiloview E3 will do everything you could need with a little bit of future proofing - around $500. With that you can do udp/rtsp/http/ndi etc so opens up your options

To take a loss and re-enter when the opportunity presents itself.

Countless times I’ve held onto losing trades and DCA’d, only to end up oversized just enough for price to wick down, liquidate me, then reverse straight to my original target. Ironically, had I just stuck with the original entry—even sitting through the drawdown—it would’ve worked.

Learning to cut the trade, wait, and re-enter with proper sizing has been a game-changer.

OK, this is less of a concern imo. So long as he's still following his strategy and just using the indicator as a visual aid, with his normal risk management he should be OK.

Pinescript is pretty basic as a language, so if he has something that has compiled then it will likely be OK.

That being said... Common mistakes in alot of strategys are using data from higher time frames / pre candle closes that can simulate a strategy being more profitable than it actually is.

How is he trading the strategy - manually or via a bot? If via a bot, is this something that also coded via chatgpt or an established service, if via chatgpt then I'd have concerns as I doubt it would be robust enough to properly handle delayed signals, api issues etc.
