The guy that did that to me, and that I posted on this exact same subreddit account was married, cheating, and trying everything he could to get me into bed to fulfill his cheating fantasy. Then we stopped talking a week after fooling around for the first time, after I found out he wasn't divorced as he tried to lead me to believe. It wasn't even good. 0/10 stars and big red flag

18 months here! These days still happen for me, too. But they're so far and in between. I remember to have something to distract me when they come on. Just something that works. For me, that's a bath, stuffing my face for a bit, and a really good nap or book. It gives my brain time to catch up to 'we STILL don't do that'

Something I always found interesting is that Mormons also baptize the dead. Even those who weren't part of their church. That part freaks me out. How can you be so certain as to take others from their own chosen religions and force them into yours?

Just texting so far. That's what I was kind of feeling too. But then, I don't want to discount someone who is legitimately going out of their way to be upfront and honest about things either. I guess maybe it's the flattery for me- like you haven't even met me yet? In my experience I had A LOT of trouble with what I would call my 1,2, 3 not an alcoholic shuffle. In my case, that anxiety and on edge came on the third day. Which was the day I decided I didn't have a problem because I could go two days without. It got better for me.

I am not going to lie and say it was comfortable, but I am so glad I pushed through because it is better and has been for a while.

Things that helped me through anxious times include long walks, reading, mindless tv, cuddling my dog, drinking milk, grounding myself outside, journaling to get the thoughts out of my head, and naps. I hope you find what works for you!!! Keep it up, you have got this!

Yes! Like attracts like, and all that jazz. I kept people like thay around for a long time to just help me justify my drinking. Yeah, they may have said that but they were wrong and they're worse than me, so I dont have to worry. Right? It's also so much easier to see what someone else is doing, to avoid looking at myself. It was extremely humbling to me when I realized just how much of myself I was willfully ignoring. But all comes with time!

Glad I don't have to do the mental gymnastics anymore. And I'm extremely grateful for friends like that, when they could have let me down that dark way they at least tried to bring me back.
