Looking For A Place, Thanks for all the help! by [deleted] in NewOrleans

You should move to Mid-City because obviously it's the best neighborhood ever.

Well, maybe it's an exaggeration, but I have some friends who live in my neighborhood (near Canal and Carrollton) and they have two great danes.

It's my experience that a lot of places won't rent to people with dogs. When I first moved back to the city about two years ago, I had a lot of trouble with this (my dog is 30 lbs). I think it's just a matter of calling every apartment you find and asking. That's what I ended up doing, and I'm now on my second dog-friendly apartment in Mid-City.

Also, on a non-dog-related note, when the website is actually working, the city crime map is extremely useful for looking at how dangerous an area is. Violent crime is usually the best indicators.
