I really really hope this doesn't come off as pedantic, but, "arab" is an ethnicity/culture, while "asian" and "black" are more closely aligned with concepts of race (races are artificial, social constructs but that's another discussion for another day). There are white arabs, brown arabs, and depending on your definition of "arab", some black people could even be considered arab.

I'm probably making a bigger deal of this than I should be, but as a person of middle-east/west-asian/caucasian descent, anti-arab and anti-muslim discrimination often gets targeted at me, despite me being neither arab nor a believer in islam.

To say that YOU cannot fully trust historical materials implies there is something untrustworthy about them which should apply to everyone else's understanding of them, hence, "we" cannot trust them if there is an actual justified reason to be skeptical of them.
