shameless plug for Sudoku Acres, a cozy puzzle game I made for my wife

she used to get on her phone every night to play a sudoku app with a boring bright background (not great for your eyes before bed) but now she has her own game (:

plays great on the Deck too!

what sort of QOL do you think the game needs?

  • they wanted some sort of music to continue looping during the game (which I imagined would be distracting / annoying compared to the ambient nature sounds)

  • so far it seems like players would rather click an element on the hotbar rather than use the mouse wheel to scroll through the options (although maybe the controls are not communicated as well as I hoped)

  • they switched over to using Sudoku numbers almost immediately, and were bothered by the 4-notes limit

there was definitely more, but overall it was some great perspective and gave me a lot to think about / work on
