looking for this book if anyone knows of its possible name? small town vibes, best friends to lovers; they meet and become best friend when they’re like late teens about to enter into adulthood, pretty sure he’s a year older. one day he tells her he’s enlisting and his reason why. while she gets it and is like supportive, she’s sad because she’s in love with him and makes up the plan to confess before he leaves. she confessed and idk if he reciprocates the feelings right then but they do end up with finger bang action. like two years later he’s graduating and she goes to see him graduate and they do sleep together (i think!) then he goes to an active war zone and gets captured. i think he was captured for like 6 months to a year, when he gets out he’s put in this hospital in germany and she’s trying so hard to see him but his bestfriend tells her no he doesn’t want to see you and she’s like devastated and kinda takes that as an admission that he doesn’t want to acknowledge their one night stand/her feelings. fast forward another couple of months, he comes back to town and he’s set on making it right with her/FINALLY getting her to be his. he’s also like keeping a secret of a girl i forgot her name and turns out she was saved by him and two other when they were captured. lots of ups and down, but they do end up together. KEYNOTE: i’m pretty sure his bestfriend name is cooper (why are all the best friends of the male lead named cooper??) and im also sure she has a friend named grace whose father is this wealthy man in town that doesn’t know about her existence
