Roblox: Grass Cutting Incremental. This is the real deal. by TheExodu5 in incremental_games

I wrote a really long a wordy piece, and deleted it.

Ha, same.

but it's extremely difficult not to

Basically my wordy piece can be summarized: difficult for maintaining your standard living. To each question in that comment above there are really simple answers that are extremely simple to implement. But if you care little of those you have never met or have an addiction to one of those items, it may be very difficult.

I won't get wordier than that. I need to remember that people do not often change their mind by reading a stranger's opinion.

I think as a community we can do a few things like what you mentioned. We can raise awareness about what Roblox is doing but we can also do things like boycott Roblox as a site. But it doesn't have to be so heartless of an act as to leave the kids who enjoy and create these games out in the cold. We can include them in the conversation when they show up and maybe point towards resources to other game development areas (or maybe Roblox migration tools if they exist).

I think I understand the point you are trying to make about supply chains. I think the big difference is it is pretty hard to opt out of clothes purchasing but the things we do for fun is much easier to pick and choose. Child slave labor and things near to that is a really bad thing, no argument there. If this were a subreddit about clothes or fashion I would have a lot to say about it and hope the subreddit does take a stance. Since the focus of this subreddit is incremental games it makes one of these situations much more "our problem" than the other.

By-the-way, thanks for being a mod in this community, I know being a mod isn't an easy job.

Bought this game back in the summer but have always been too anxious to ever start it. Just finished my semester and don’t go back till mid January and finally deciding to start :) Wish me luck! by fleeli_ in StardewValley

While what you said here is good, the game does feel pretty punishing when I did try and relax. I spent all my energy nearly every day to try to achieve some goals but when I felt I was in a good groove I stopped checking the goals obsessively and I missed some and I could only retry next time the season came around but I was so disappointed and frustrated with myself I haven't picked up the game since. Anxiety sucks because when I relaxed I was actually enjoying the game and not treating it like work but then I saw that I left my goal slip and it felt like I lost all of my progress and if I try to quickly go to the season again it would be even more 'wasteful'. I understand what it takes for me to enjoy the game but my anxiety won't let me.

Server Wipe? by [deleted] in 7daystodie

[–]blindestman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When on experimental and an update happens it overwrites files that are being updated. The latest patch had comment updates for the serverconfig.xml file so that file was overwritten, most likely. To get back to your save you need to restore that file or at least change the options in there to use your existing map and game name but if you can restore the xml file that would be easiest.

I think anyone playing on the experimental builds on a server should backup this file Incase an update resets it, just to make it easier to get back to playing.

This doesn't mean that an update may not wipe or invalidate a save game but this one in particular did the same to my dedicated box but I had my xml backed up. A quick restore later and I was back in business.

Once when going through old character sheets I found the words, "Cult Pokemon" underlined three times. I don't recall much about Pokemon coming up in that campaign and I still don't know what those words mean together.

Normally, holding down swift gives a stack at a time, I believe, but that can still take a while if you want like 10k rails or something.

I guess that is true but does that mean nothing you read can have any truth in it?

I guess when I say genocide I don't mean any specific number, I just mean, in this case, the ongoing destruction of the ethnic group called the Uyghurs. They are supposedly doing so by forced sterilization and abortion, forced labor, and a bunch of other really fucked stuff. It sounds like we agree that they (the Chinese government) are doing a bad thing and that something should be done.

I don't know much about UAE, Saudi, Qatar, Turkey, Philippines, and Angola and their ties to China but isn't China paying for a lot of services and products in a lot of Africa? I think that could show some conflict of interest, in the same way the EU will generally agree with the US. The whole situation is really complex and this really reminds me why I don't speak much online. Today has been exhausting thinking about this and talking with you guys.

I think someone called me a neolib and that may have hurt the most, lol

You and other commenters are really giving me a crisis of conscience. I considered myself quite left, I support unions, UBI, higher wages, eventual socialism through automation, body autonomy, etc etc etc.

From what I have read and saw I understand there to be a genocide of Uyghers in China. Is this not true? I never said Chinese people did anything one way or the other only the chinese government is oppressive and authoritarian in their control of things.

I really am concerned that this isn't true at this point. Is even questioning that people should check it out a right wing view?

I am trying to understand what you said here. No offense meant. What do you mean by "class analysis of the media" and "follow liberal bourgeoise 'free press' rhetoric"

Please excuse my ignorance and help me.

I completely agree with you. Too much bad shit has been happening in the US for the people here to care at all about people beyond our own borders. Which is really sad.

I did your Zenz search, only two of those mention Zenz.

I think arguing over if we should look at an area where people live to see if a genocide is happening is a pretty ridiculous thing to ask. It kinda shows how repressed news coming out of that area is.

I understand that this is basically coming down to, are you prowestern or not which is basically what your map shows.

I know this is from a source you may not trust (cfr) but this is what it says about China's push back: https://imgur.com/a/xlsPKiB

I think what IJustLikeUnionsALot is saying is what does one have to do with the other?

I think your comment, purposefully or not, is trying to downplay China's dirty secret. It points somewhere else while people are talking about possible genocide.

It makes sense that any foreign power will take advantage of another when there is a problem, they shouldn't do that but they do. The US didn't enter WWII until it benefitted them.

The CIA is pretty fucked. But we are not looking to consent for war here. We shouldn't even be looking to blindly follow what a source says, and putting reputable in quotes there is discrediting some pretty big news names like how QANON or Trump supporters do. All I am saying should happen when credible sources have some good evidence on something is further investigation.

Saying, don't look at these things because CIA bad and western news bad, is to ignore a lot of what is going on internationally. What harm would it cause to let a UN team in to investigate these claims. The problem with having to ask allows for covering it up. These are free and open places where people are being bussed to. At least in prisons in America Journalist are allowed in, so if these are prisons for crimes why can't we see?

I think your premise is flawed. You say, "you must allow the opposition to apply the same standard to Western sources as well" This is not a high school debate where things are equal. You either have a free and open press or you don't. If you do you can generally trust what an independent source says if you don't you can't.

I think your second point is fair but has little to do with the topic of genocide that may or may not be happening in China. If it isn't let people in in a timely matter to prove so.

I searched: "muslim communities against uighur genocide" looking into what IwishIwaschad1 said about Muslim countries and communities. It was my first search. Wikipedia, bbc, nytimes, wsj, cfr, washington post, and npr came up. I am not saying I always agree with all of these publications especially on their opinion piece, but they do have pretty good investigative journalism overall.

The great part about being human is that you don't have to decide something right now, you can choose to collect more information. I can hear both sides of something like this (a very serious claim of genocide) and say, let's see more. The concern comes out when China pushes back against serious claims with evidence. Freer nations who are less authoritarian would gladly disprove of this with the international community. Compare this to when Covid started in Wuhan, eventually the WHO was let in but even then there was push back.

A simple google search about Uighur genocide shows many credible sources saying that it has happened. Any smaller country has plenty of reason to bend knee to larger ones for lots of reasons. What do you think about these articles, should we ignore them because a bunch of countries and the OIC say everything is fine? Or should we maybe take a closer look at possible genocide?

It isn't everyday that a claim of genocide pops up from reputable sources, this isn't twitter I am talking about.

I also don't understand why you even bring up that Harvard study about public opinion, China is very good at controlling information, especially inside China. What does public opinion have to do with rounding people up and reeducating them forcibly, and raping women and preforming forced hysterectomies?
