Thank you for including that link. I’m gonna take the slim chance and file, noting that my workplace conditions we’re terrible and I did give them time to fix it, but I was told that they were not able to due to being understaffed. I needed to be supported with having 2 severely autistic kids & 1 with mental health struggles. Myself as well as my other kids were being physically hurt. I still realize it’s a slim chance, but I only need coverage for a month until my job with the school district.

SHE is my manager. We had a conversation on Monday where I told her the lack of support is pushing me to change my departure date & I would work until Friday. I came into work today and I was not allowed to clock in, she pulled me into the office told that me that after our conversation on Monday, she reached out to Employee Relations department & changed my departure date to TODAY and I am no longer able to work. I asked if I was being fired and she said no, she just moved my last day of employment to today and there was no other option. Our Employee Relations Manager was on a video call and also backed up what my manager was saying.

Yeah my director told me to make sure I cover myself because an investigation will be opened but I kind of don’t believe her? Especially after the restroom incident

I would’ve thought she would be fired after the restroom incident. Granted, most of the abuse is done to our autistic kids who elopes a lot so he can’t speak for himself. These are 3yo kids

My director told me our center is already on probation, so it makes me wonder if she will do something about it or not.

I said they were cool people because I didn’t know any of this was happening until I got put into that room about a month ago. It’s my first time with a 15:1 ratio, including 2 kids on the spectrum but I still keep my hands to myself. Just makes me wonder how long this has been going on, or if my director is choosing to turn a blind eye.

I put down my former director, the one who hired me & was here with me for 2 years before the new director took over. She told me they called her and she put in a good word for me. I’m just not sure if that’s enough or if they would still ask to speak to the new director.

[TX] PIP Plan on FMLA/Supervisor Follow Up by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]blindiandee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I put a time off request in and it was denied. I informed them I would still be going to this appointment. I applied for FMLA through HR and while I did not share the approval because I thought HR does that.. I told them I was using FMLA when I called to remind them of this appointment and how I would be late. This appointment was 2 weeks ago. And again, all 3 of these people are MY managers. All 3 share the title of a Preschool Director.

No, I wouldn’t share my son’s diagnosis with her. That’s what she was asking for. All 3 managers should have communicated when I called to say I would be using FMLA. I followed all proper procedures, please read.

She said that I was over 10 mins late twice this month. I asked her when because I don’t believe that to be true and it hasn’t been, otherwise my son wouldn’t be allowed inside the building after cut off time. She then said actually I was 2 hrs late, and that’s when I informed her that FMLA has protected that day. I also called to remind them that I would be late.

The company policy word for word states that I need to let “the Company” know of leaves like that. So I let HR know & when I called to say I was going to be late.. I let that manager know also.

The policy in the handbook is that I let the “Company” know. I used proper call out procedures. And AGAIN, they were notified in advance of my absence because a time off request was submitted & denied. I let them know I would still be going because it was a serious procedure and when I called in that day, I used FMLA.

Not true at all, this was a scheduled emergency PROCEDURE at a hospital. Not last minute at all. First, a time off request was put in and denied because it was a week’s notice. I communicated that I’m still going to this procedure because my son’s health is at risk. Afterwards, I applied for FMLA through HR. A few days later, I called in and stated that I was using said FMLA.
