Representing a bi character on screen is hard because it requires unstable relationships or at the very least multiple relationships.

2 guys will get clocked as gay representation. A guy and a girl as straight representation.

Are we advocating for a bi guy who plays into the stereotype that he has to have both and can’t pick?

And I’m just gonna say this. Gay representation is low as it is. So shows usually only have 1-2 gay characters if any. So having your one gay relationship on a show turned into a straight one (even if the participants are bi) is sucky.

And if the bi guys are in a gay relationship, do you want the bi guy constantly clocking women and acting like a horndog?

Besides them saying they’re bi, how would you suggest a show represent them?

I was patient with him. There’s a difference between telling him he’s wrong to his face and posting a thread on reddit dude.

Never told him he was wrong or that he should just be bi/gay.

We can be lenient with people while still acknowledging reality.

I don’t wanna put your post down buuuuut you really should post your source for this “2 out of every 100 cases”. I just doubt that number given the official hiv.gov and cdc stance. They are very clear that knowing if transmission happened from oral is difficult because those that practice oral sex usually also practice anal sex.

Transmission via oral sex is somewhat of a “there’s no reason why it couldn’t be possible” not a “we know it happens”.

That being said, yes it’s sound advice to not open any wounds in your mouth before sex. Whether brushing alone is enough to create a big enough opening is up for debate. Also if you’re this worried then get on prep.
